Now more than ever, we need to schedule

What sucks is now St. Bobby and Zomba-Paterno are tied and will simply coach until one drops dead on the sideline as neither one wants to lose that record. The sad thing for F$U fans is that Jimbo-Roscoe-Pee-Cole-Train Fischer has been tagged as the heir, and he is an utter failure as a recruiter and a head coach. Now if St. Richt ever gets tired of losing 2 games a year in the SEC and wants to get to the BCS every year he'll take the F$U job from Bobby's cold clammy dead pasty paws.
I don't see a reason for him to take that job, sadly. I'd love for the patron Saint of Obnoxious Assholes to leave UGA. There's no real reason to go back to Free Shoes though, is there?

Why don't we worry about getting to the level of consistent ACC Championship contenders & competing with UGA before we worry about anything beyond that?

We do those 2 things and everything else will take care of itself. Conference strength is cyclical and the relative weakness of the ACC (this year) isn't going to keep anyone out of the BCS Championship game (because noone will be deserving anyway).

Witness THE Ohio State University. :laugher:

Exactly.

Since we have no hope of leaving the ACC for the Big Ten, we should continue to root for the ACC to plummet, yet barely keep its BCS spot through money and media influence.

And I still say it would be smart for GT to have its' first game on the road against the best team possible.

Oh yeah, I take GT football very seriously, but not personally.

Please try to imagine Paul Johnson's reaction to your formula for a winning program.

Teams outside the BCS with nothing to lose might think it is a good idea to start out of the gate against another top program.

Any other coach is going to want to start slow with a tune-up game. LSU played App. State this weekend. Les Miles knows what he is doing and so does Paul Johnson.

We may try to upgrade our schedule, but we won't go for a top school to start the season for quite awhile.

P.S.
Talk about putting the cart before the horse, imagine the laughter from our recent opponents in our worry over what happens when we go undefeated and get left out of the MNC.

I'm going to vote no on this for one simple reason - TV. I do not have a prayer of making it to more then one game down there this year, as I am stuck above the Mason-Dixon. And if we play in the weak sister conference, then I will have no hope of seeing any games televised. I will get garbage games, like I currently get. Can we get a petition to Tommy Bowden, Al Groh and the other coaches in the ACC that implores them to think about me before they run another doomed play?

I didn't even realize there was intelligent life north of it.

that's because most intelligent life IS above the Mason-Dixon line, otherwise you would have been intelligent enough to know that there was...

+1 Hell, I'm north of the Mason-Dixon & west of the Mighty Mississippi. Televised football coverage up in this corner is a joke. Out here when people say "the south" they mean California. The Big East gets more airtime than the ACC. It's pathetic!

Yeah it's crazy, they actually think the Earth is older then 6,000 years old up there. They also don't believe in prayer as a solution to your problems. Silly yankees.

We need to schedule overrated teams from bad conferences. Too bad VT and Clemson are already on our schedule. I vote OSU next.

even dumber, they dont think that ignoring problems will make them go away; also, for some reason they think that scientific theories must actually be based on scientific study!

the one that gets me the most is that they think telling people what we wish would be sufficient to know is not good enough, and they think that we should actually give them real information about real life things, like sex education.

Get DirecTV, pay by credit card, get e-bills. Give your address as Bobby Dodd Stadium. Then you will at least get the local GT TV coverage.
