OFFICIAL™ Kool-Aid Glass Half Full Thread

The 11 play drive was created by running off tackle. That play was there most of the night. We could have gotten two long drives together by running there, but got cute instead.

And I get the playcall. I am OK with trying to get a cheap one. But after you just got things going, that trick play showed a lack of faith.

It showed an understanding of the game clock. Had to get cute because we needed 2 scores.

The only playcall fault I can dish for the game is not making the adjustment to running against the motion earlier in the game. There are very few plays that do not require blocking, and they were shedding blocks all night, out of pure athleticism.

This. It seems we never can make any major adjustments until halftime. That goes for offense and defense. I don't know if CPJ and Roof aren't getting critical info to make adjustments until then, or if it's just ass-chewing and coaching our guys up. Regardless, I am in the camp that we need to make adjustments sooner.

Also, I think our D played good last night. Got to give credit to Clemson, they have talent, playmakers, and good coaching. The one thing I would like to see from our D is to come out and open up a game with more aggressive scheming. I would rather get burnt by one of their playmakers than give them 7 yards per play then try to shut it down when they get in the red-zone. That isn't easy. Make them make the plays.

Our offense needs to get better, but I think it will improve as we continue to face some better opponents. CPJ is definitely more optimistic than last year, and he's been evaluating this offense and team character for decades. Our defense is not good enough to win games alone, but it's good enough this year to take some pressure off the offense. Miami will be a big physical challenge, but I don't think we will be overmatched like last night for the rest of the year. Eight wins is still a good possibility.

How's your finger doing?

various replying styles:

"The StingTalk":
Your mom said it was doing great last night

"The Hive":
It is doing wonderfully! Might have to get a tetanus shot or some stitches, but thats just another chance to improve on things! Everything is awesome!

"The BuzzCzar":

"How is your finger?" - whats ööööing wrong with that?

"The Tiger4lyfe":

hilarious.

Do you two (Coit and Andrew) plan on making it to the game on the 1st?

Also, the day that I take grammar advice from an idiot (BuzzCzar) who can't figure out how to open a container of alcohol without injuring himself will be the day that I entertain anything these other two idiots have to say.

How many opponents better than Clemson do you think we have left on the schedule?

None, Clemson is where they have always wanted to be for years. An honest to goodness football factory with all the advantages accorded to such teams. The elite status, 4 and 5 star players on the bench, the works. As to can they beat Louisville? I think they can but Watson will have to play lights out better than he has so far this year. We really need to come back and beat da U but it is going to be difficult.

I make it to all the home games. We are also talking about road tripping to the UNC game. I don't think Andrew makes it to anything but maybe homecoming since he's in NYC.

And opening alcohol is an occupational hazard for Czar.
