official 2009/ 2010 recruiting thread

Question....Are we back to our regular scholarship limit? On CPJ's radio show he's always talking about we are down ships or something like that, I thought we were past that? Well if not, when do we get them back?

We weren't down from the total number of scholarships, we were short of available ones because of class imbalances.

Point in fact, there are 61 true/RS freshman on our roster.
 
I know Perkins and Bostic are graduating HS early...and GTland03 said Isaiah Johnson was as well. Anybody else graduating early?
 
Saw an article about Blake Sims in the AJC yesterday. Bama commit who grew up a ugag fan. ugag didn't offer him until late.

I guess this doesn't have much to do with GT except that this guy would have a chance to be the sickest option QB in history. I watched a video of him. He looks like Frasier running and throws like Hamilton.

I believe we can win with who we've got, but this kid would've been just ridiculous.

Did we recruit this guy? If not, we missed out big time. Maybe it was grade stuff.

If he's as good as you say, I'm sure Tech would have offered him. Perhaps he had no interest in playing in an option offense. Tech doesn't hand out offers like candy. They have to be certain the player will qualify academically so they're not wasting their time or the kid's time.

Yeah, all of that goes without saying.

My question is whether or not we recruited him. If not, was it grades, no interest on his part, or what?

My reason for asking is that he's probably one of a very few (elite, special, whatever you want to say) QB's with his athleti**** and throwing ability and he's in our own backyard.
 
No idea.....I don't think we have a lot of offers out yet...I know we offered LB A.J. Johnson who is a Tennessee commit and OL Thomas O'Reilly.
 
Looks like Bobo and Martinez were at the Jefferson Co game Friday recruiting B.J. Bostic.
 
Giff Smith says he is staying at GT....other schools are trying to negative recruit saying he is going to GSU.
