You know, it's a common misconception that the theory of black holes holds that the matter inside them rests in a point mass in the center. It's actually been some time since the scientific community held this view as the current state of understanding. In reality, the current theory roughly states that majority of the mass lies in a thin but incredibly dense shell right at the event horizon. You see, as the acceleration due to gravity becomes relativistic for infalling matter, time dilation takes over and, from the perspective of a neutral observer outside the system, it never actually falls all the way in. It essentially reaches a point where it would take infinite observer time to fall any further, and at that point it's effectively stopped moving at all.

There has been some postulation about what it would look like to see this happen in real time, due to the strange interaction of time dilation and photons around the event horizon and the fact that the compression of the shell into the event horizon does't happen instantly (time dilation slows it well before it actually arives), but the acceleration of this bowl game may actually produce the first scientifically observable example. Very exciting stuff!

Wake DL, actually. The camera keeps showing Ford for ATM when the announcers are talking about Ejiofor for Wake for some reason.

I know it's all about getting paid and such, but it feels terrible to me to see a team's best player decide to sit out the bowl to avoid getting hurt. Hope he gets a nasty rug burn from twirling a towel on the sideline. :-)

Seems like Wake kinda sucks in the red zone. Settled for 2 FGs after getting the ball to the 10 today, and dropped a TD pass both times.

3Q was pretty brutal for Wake, but hey, there was a pretty brutal stretch for them in 1Q as well. At this point, though, either one of these teams is going to score 60 or this is coming down to the last second. Maybe even both. I'm hooked.
 
I love it when people say "buttocks" on live TV but pause first and then pronounce it butt-tocks like it's two words. I'm one of those Geico commercials where the guy goes "oh hell yeah" after something awful happens, right now.
