Eh, good coach, I guess. Don’t know anything other than NDSU rules FCS football right now. I do know they’re built on great defense though.

I don’t know. A defensive minded coach in the Big 12 seems like a complete waste and mismatch.

NDSU is definitely the premier team in 1-AA. I wonder if Venables was ever interviewed for this job? I figured if he would ever jump at a HC opportunity, it would be at his alma mater.

In my dream world, Saban retires. Bama selects Dabo and Smart as associate head coaches. They bring in all of their assistants and their top players.

agreed - it's definitely a step backwards for Woody.

Oh well. No big loss. He was in over his head at the P5 level.

Hard to judge him based on one year, but he definitely didn't prove anything, as our defense was worse in just about every category except turnovers. Would have wanted to give him a 2nd year had PJ stayed.

Hope he is a good fit with Monken. Good of CPJ to help him land on his feet.
 
DL ward markedly improved under Woody, I thought, but LBs really struggled. Talent, not scheme, imo.

I think they would have been vastly improved next year based on his time at App St.

It was nice seeing an aggressive D after the Roof years.
