Anyone understand why the Sep 12 game between UNC and Wake is labeled Non-Conference?

I'm guessing it's because it's a 9th ACC game for each team. They both already have two other cross-divisional opponents, so I guess it won't count towards their standings.

Other than the short week between VT and NCS, and having only 1 home game (UNC) between 9/14 and 11/2, this is a good schedule. We will probably take our lumps in the opener, and then have the month of September to work on the new schemes before playing another conference game. Finish with 4 out of 5 at home when the weather is cool.

Great idea. They should release some new products there with booths set up to buy. I really want to come to the spring game this year, and the only day I know I won't be able to is April 27th - my daughter's birthday. So it's pretty much guaranteed now that the Spring game will be that day.
Black(watch) jersey announcement?‍♂️

Looking at the stadium seating map, it looks like the away fan section has been moved to the west side of the south stands. They're selling season tickets in the old away section in the southeast corner. Interesting...
And assuming no more students in the south endzone the student section has shrunk considerably. Maybe we will use part of upper north for overflow (if needed)?

If I remember the old sections correctly, it looks like the students have another section or two in the lower North stands, northeast corner. But yes, definitely looks like less overall. Which, based on recent season student attendance, is probably justifiable.

I don’t think they are putting more visiting fans on the lower level it might be they’re giving them fewer in the lower level and putting more of them in the upper north. All of the black sections should be students still.

I would look to gray areas as visiting fans. The black sections for students look the same to me. They still have four sections in the south endzone.

Yeah not too much to complain about for me. Clemson week 1 is rough, but maybe we can catch them off guard. Not sure when a good time would be to play them.

Then three non-conference games which is what I would have wanted. Winnable games while we get our footing. Ideally we’d have Citadel week 2, but that’s nitpicking.

And we even get our easiest conference game to start the string on 7 ACC games. State 5 days after VT is rough, but they get the same short rest and we’re at home for both. So they have more to complain about. Thursday night games are very tough to win on the road.

And then 2 extra days to prep for COFH. A few tweaks here in and there for my “ideal” schedule, but probably the happiest I’ve been on release day since ‘08.

It is funny how CPJ leaves and suddenly we don’t have any teams with BYEs before us despite each team having 2. Sure that’s just random though.

VPI has not just one, but TWO Friday night games?

YIKES

I've always hated that our home game schedule was so heavily front loaded in September, with hardly any home games in November. This is a GREAT schedule from that standpoint.

September - 2 home games
October - 1 home game
November - !!!! 4 home games !!!

That will be nice. Wish we had 2 in October and 3 in November though!

I could have sworn that the visitor's section was blacked out in past seasons. You may be right, though.
