Official Game Day Thread - Da I vs. Da U

Man it's like if CPJ would know how the game would play out then he could adjust accordingly.....or maybe that was him adjusting to the crystal ball but ööööing it up. Woooah
That was not a coach criticism so much as a statement that it blows that we don’t even have the option, apparently, for a field goal because our kickers blow.

Rain hurt, bounce of a deflected pass hurt, crappy turf hurt, but those were out of our control. What was in our control was yet another game of whiffed blocks. We weren't executing jack ____ for blocks. The number of white vs green jerseys was never in our favor because on every single play, someone whiffed their assignment and a defender was disrupting.

Ted's refusal to adjust after 7 straight bubble screens for 7 yards was also a WTF moment.

If you think this loss was on Paul Johnson getting cute with play calling you must have watched a different game than I did. Miami’s defense ate our lunch all game.

On our second td he called 4 straight rocket tosses that went for 30+, on the radio show at halftime they even asked him about how we were destroying them on the perimeter, he laughed it off about bad blocking or some öööö.

Didn't call another rocket toss the rest of the game and kept trying to pound the middle with his third string bback.

Roof sucks, but this game is on cpj

So the perimeter didn’t work and the middle didn’t work. It was clear the QB keep didn’t work. If you think this loss is on CPJ, what would you have done?

Not sure you read my post correctly, the perimeter was working.

My point is that the perimeter didn’t work in the 2nd half, including rocket toss which he did call. No facets of our offense worked. It had much less to do with coaching and much more to do with defensive performance.

Regretfully reminiscent of the first half of the Clemson game from last year. Overwhelming speed on the line disrupting the mesh. Everyone complaining about Wimmerbsuaualliah playing instead of Jerry. Wouldn't have made a difference.

Unlike Tennessee, Miami had the better team. With that said. CPJ made a great call late in the game with Braun and Marshall going out against one defender on 3rd down. Braun falls down and Marshall can't out run a great play by Miami DB. Stewart play. 4th and 10. These are the ones that come to mind that could have won the game. Just didn't happen.

I believe this is a good team that will learn a lot from today's game against their first really good team they have played - if - and I emphasize that - they can keep their head up. Clearly depth played a part in today's game. Weimy ain't Benson, Jordan-Swilling ain't Mitchell. But we made some plays today and I have feeling we can learn a lot about today's game on the offensive side. I kept thinking we needed to score again and turned out I was wrong. All we needed was a 1st down or stop 4th and 10. We are not that far off. We did however get a break in their stupid on-side kick. We are a good team that could catch some breaks later in the year - maybe we are paying for that last win in Athens where we looked beat but won the game. That's football.

This. Y'all step back from the ledge.
