And the simple resolution is just a new DC? GT has tried that time after time after time after time. Go back and look how good Wommack was at Ole Miss after CPJ let him go. Do you think he magically learned how to coach after leaving GT?

Talent is what makes all coaches look good. GT has an issue along the DL (been an issue for 15+ years).

Wanted to hire Key as HC? Fine, but everyone else on the staff should have been shown the door. All of Collins' staff should have been replaced.

Didn’t we get whipped by MTSU? Surely that’s worse when we were supposed to be decent.

People get in their feelings when we play bad (and make no mistake, this is horrific). It’s hyperbole, though. Collins had at least 5 performances worse than this, and MTSU was every bit as bad.

To be clear, I don’t mean that as a defense of this performance. The apparent lack of effort is unacceptable and I’d be pretty worried about my job if I was CAT.

Yeah. And it was disgraceful to watch MTSU do the same thing in 2012. Again, this has been a GT issue for a long time.

I don't think that will necessarily solve everything, but expecting Thacker to suddenly devise better defensive schemes and teach these kids how to tackle after five years doesn't seem like a great plan, either.
