I feel like there must be some confusion somewhere. There is no way he just told them to run that time off. I won't believe even he would do that until he confirms it. Until then, I can believe an ACC ref said something wrong or stupid.

I dunno. We've had some near misses with TOs, with one sure pick six that the guy dropped on the drive before. I can see how a coach might just take the 14-3 deficit and regroup at half time because it's way more likely something bad will happen rather than something good given how the offense has performed up to this point.
