Just a wag, but the same.way we try to block guys rather than tackle, and not every defender wanting to put their hat on the RB going into the end zone on a TD run. Too many guys waiting for someone else to make a play.

To be fair, they probably either don't trust anyone to make this tackle if they miss or they assume someone else making the tackle will not get it so they need to be ready to clean up.
