A better judgment of where this class ranks in GT history won't be possible until at least a couple years down the road, but I think an argument can be made that this is the most impressive class we've ever had when put into context--transitioning out of an option offense, 3-9 season, etc.
It's a bad-ass class, period.
You can't give enough credit to what Geoff Collins, Brent Key, Marco Coleman, et. al just did.
It hasn't been done more than a half-dozen times since Bobby Dodd left.
A shortlist of the programs that didn't fare as well last Wednesday: USC, OkST, Wisconsin, UCLA, Utah, TCU, Baylor, VT, UVA.

You realize even Kirby Smart and UGA are feeling the pressure, right? They sent out false advertising that I-85 and downtown ATL are close to agricultural estates in Athens. Shame on them..

Collins is The Man! And The Man is signing The Jimmies and The Joes! The conference championships and CFB playoffs will follow. Give it time.

That’s unfair speculation.
Any speculation is unfair, but speculating about academic issues is probably less offensive than the insinuations of bad character that some have brought up, like he is looking for attention or dishonest about his commitment.

It happens.
It does happen. We had a commit flip to Troy at the last minute last year, so that was a pretty good indicator. I just dont like to speculate on it, publicly, without knowing. Feels like invading a kid's privacy to me. (Of course, a lot of recruiting discussion is probably a little weird if you stop and think about it)

When was Charles Dudish? He would be considered the highest ranked recruit ever for GT if such a thing was ranked during his day.
1968 frosh class. Dude was one of 3 highly rated qbs (Harold Mote & John O'Neil), Brent Cunningham, larry Studdard, George Novak, Smylie Gebhart, Brad Bourne, Pete Cordray, Dan Karlo, Al Hutko, David Beavin.

Bunch of really good players that, if Fulcher had stayed as frosh coach or if George Maloof had accepted from St Pius, would have been 4 - 1 at worst.

Ended up 2-3 thanks to Granville running pull / toss sweeps about 65% of time.

His solution was for the team to perform a "nasty fit" before the game.

No.

Mr O’Neill who was employed by GTAA played for Bobby Dodd.

The John O’Neill of 1968 frosh team, as well as Harold Mote of Marietta h.s.fame, both transferred out I believe.

Dudish, like a lot of youngsters, had too much pressure placed on him.
