Good hire. We needed to take a break from the merry-go-round and BK is the most stable thing that has been around GT for a while. Good person and could turn out to be a Dabo Sweeney - who knows. At least he knows football, has played, worked and learned from the best - O"Leary and Saban. I am happy with this choice. If he had started the year, we would be in a bowl game. We desperately need a great recruiter and he seems to be one.

I was shocked with how poorly Tech played UVA, but understood what they were going through with Sims. Gibson looked horrible in that game, but he played well against Georgia. Considering the sudden changes, Key adjusted well and made the Jackets competitive. I'm optimistic.
 
Maybe the search firm came back and said within the parameters you set for the search we believe the current guy in charge is your best option.

Got banned from other forum for saying Collins was a bad hire and for pointing out his failures and bullshit for his first two years. Dad was alum and been going to games since the 70s. I’ve seen all the good times. That’s history.

I am fine with Key. However interesting that Tech rumored to not willing to pay guaranteed money hurt us in our search for big names. So possible reasons for our stance 1) Obvious existing AA debt 2) financial comparison - outside coaches available for hire just weren't worth the guarantee they required vs the no-guarantee of Key 3) make a stand on paying guaranteed money in hopes to change the market in the future and 4) Elephant in the room - that will soon have to also pay off Pastner further resulting in money for nothing.
