It's getting real now:

To members of the student body,

It has come to the attention of the Student Government Association that a proposed change to the Institute's main fight song, I'm A Ramblin Wreck from Georgia Tech, has stirred up many conversations and discussion over the possibility of a change and a possible underlying issue that spurred the proposal for change. This change was not introduced by a member of the student body however such changes, should they happen, have to be done at the request of the students. The link below is to a poll to gauge the opinion of the student body as to how we should move forward. If you have any questions, please visit the SGA office across from Subway in the Student Center Commons or email sga.gatech@gmail.com.

Yours in White & Gold,
Student Government Association

The survey lets you vote without verifying you are actually a student. Valid feedback!

Question #2 is terrible. Is it about the song, or is it about campus in general?

I'd like everyone who cares to vote on this. Like Cyp said this is the real deal. There's an option for alumni not that they can verify that. This vote should be in favor of maintaining without having to resort to cheating. So go ahead and vote like you did like last week.

I found it very interesting that the "join" petition\survey\pole\whatever did not provide any means to register opposition to its question. Not surprised by that, however.

The fact there is even an official poll on this is BS. I voted but I really don't think this poll will give accurate results. Just wait for huffpo and breitbart (or at least campus reform) to post about this and people across the country will be voting for their side regardless of their lack of affiliation with the institute.

It's a petition, not a survey. That's how petitions work.

What is the point of this if you don't have to verify your identity?

Maybe they hope that the vote will be overwhelming for keeping with a bunch of us sidewalkers voting and they can just drop the idea? I dunno.

I'd say it's more likely to be the opposite.

Glad to know they totally left it in context. If we're really talking about this, the vote needs to be of the entire song with three or four options to see if people can actually spot the sexism.

One of the best things about Tech was the generally leftist-free vibe of the campus. SJWs are truly poisonous people.

I thought " Up With The White and Gold " was the GT fight song. I remember that being so 60 years ago.
