Clock stops on a first down...

Only until they set the ball. Then the clock runs. So if they ruled us inbounds, we would have had to be all the way up there and in field goal formation as soon as they set the ball, and then snap it within 3 seconds. That's difficult enough to do for a normal spike; for a FG it's even tougher. Certainly not impossible, but for a 52 yarder where everything has to be perfect...

Instead, we had the entire play clock to line up, let Butker take his steps, etc. The challenge didn't succeed because they can't

It is ööööing amazing how in every replay that's ever been reviewed, somehow a player manages to block the only little portion of the shot needed to see the truth of the call.
