I like the general sentiment, but GT alumni are different. That growth in enrollment is from 100% online master’s students. Tech added 10,000 of them over the last 5 years. Seriously, 25% of Tech students are entirely online (and not coming to football games)

I actually checked the numbers and it’s worse.

This year, Tech has 19,058 entirely online students, with almost all of them graduate students.

Guess how much Tech enrollment has jumped since 2010? 22,918. From 20,941 to 43,859. 43% of Tech students were 100% online in 2022-2023 school year. And they’re in just a few degree (MS CS, MS Analytics, and MS Cyber Security)

BTW, the student section really brought it. I could feel the stands moving in the upper north because of them. At one point, I thought "I hope they have inspected these support beams for defects". I just would have ridden the collapse down, Bugs Bunny style.

Did see a female student got hurt jumping out of the stands. Leg injury. The paramedics had to carry her off

Disappointed they were instructed not to play the Horse after the field had been cleared. Pussy decision. Our band would have middle fingered security and played it anyway a decade ago. Disappointing. We get a big victory. Celebrate it. Stop being little sissy assholes. Security works FOR us. We don't work FOR them. Yes, clear the field, but let us celebrate.

Those yellow shirt "EVENT STAFF" people are all assholes and are one real reasons why longtime fans quit going to the games.

Nobody wants to be hollered at by some schmuck with a bullhorn.

Seriously....is there some stupid federal government law requirements to hire such?

Several years ago, I had the assistant AD at the time, Mike Castle, personally visit me pregame in the stadium after I had a run in with an overzealous security female. We were on the landing going to the upper north awaiting the band to come down the hill so we could watch them play Callaway. Security lady came down and DEMANDED everyone move off the landing (only about 15 -20 people).

Folks started moving......except me. No ööööing way I'm moving. I have watched the band play on the stairs at Callaway from that spot since I moved to the upper north. I ain't moving for you. She immediately threatens to have me REMOVED from the stadium and goes to get a GT police officer to make it happen. Meanwhile, I find the contact and message Mike Castle who responds with "where are you? On my way".

The security personnel comes back, cop in tow. You can tell that the cop in NO WAY wants to remove me. Castle shows up and tells the security officer she works for GT in this situation and needs to calm it down and leave the area. Gets her name (I suppose to be blacklisted from working GT games, I never saw her again). And apologizes to me.

Needless to say, I was shocked and proud of the response to actually side WITH our fan and not defer to an overzealous, empowered, security officer harassing people for just standing out of the way, obstructing nothing.

Let us enjoy a win. We aren't hurting a damn thing.

Couple of things I haven't seen mentioned, maybe I missed them.

1. That was a great catch by Seither for his 2nd TD. Just tapping that toe in bounds.
2. D. Smith could have had more yards on his last run, but smartly went down after the line to gain. I have no idea what's been going on with him, but he's a good football player.
3. I hate the prevent defense at the end. It worked out this time with the forced fumble, but sitting back and giving a QB that much time to throw is rarely a recipe for success. It wasn't like there was only 15 seconds on the clock.
 
Saw security tackle some kid running onto the field a little late, after there were already hundreds of people on the field. Some supervisor came up and was like “no, dude.”

Those security dweebs were just picking random guys out to assault. I saw one that slammed a guy down hard after there’s already 2000 people on the field. A groups of students should have kicked his ass.
