Official Spring Game Thread

Oh, there WAS one good thing I really liked.

The girls doing the Isish stepdancing. Made me think of my daughter who was in Irish stepdancing classes and competitions for years as a kid. Brought back some nice memories.
 
I watched it on the TV. I think I will like the offense. Its going to be a lot of run/run/pass reads. Sims will either pick it up or sink. Gibson look serviceable. The receivers did a good job catching the ball mostly. The D backs were all playing press man which looked better than whatever we did last year. really competing for the ball. Knight looks big at LB and intimidating but seemed to get tired. Chimedza looks bigger. Hassan looked tentative.

Main thing is . . . Jeff Sims is still not an accurate thrower. Wasn't accurate the last two years. Don't think he ever will be.

Gibson seems to be a bit more accurate. But still not great. Announcer said he's "highly intellgent." How predictable. Only surprised they didn't call him a "gym rat" or says he's scrappy, sneaky athletic, gritty, a lunch pail guy who has good fundamentals, he plays the game the right way . . . . LMFAO.

Snaps from center to the QB still appear to be an issue. But it's only spring, right?

CGC looks fatter than ever. Maybe not a guy who should be wearing shorts in public.

Artificial turf still looks cheap.

I predicted four wins a few weeks ago. Didn't see anything here that made me want to change that prediction. Maybe I just don't want to see the improvement. But I guess 4 wins IS improvement, right? Hope I'm wrong as hell and we pull 8, 9 or 10 wins. Not impossible.

Other than that . . . I wonder how Mrs. Lincoln enjoyed the play.

What was wrong with the announcers? Roddy and Cotter (both Tech guys) are usually pretty good.

I know they're Tech guys. So am I. I wouldn't be a good announcer, either.

To be fair, I think the nature of this faux spring "game" did not help. It seemed so ööööing disorganized . . . and so did they. It was hard to tell what the point was to any of it was. They might as well have been televising any random practice. Still, that whole thing where they were trying to talk to CGC while he's trying to run a practice, and he pretended he couldn't hear them, so he's talking to someone else , , , or maybe he really couldn't hear them . . . amateur hour.

moral outrage on our campus...At least the guy lost to the girls.
I wonder what would happen if Enes Kanter was feeling girly and joined the WNBA?
