What to do about Chan Gailey?

You know you have to give me time to make the poll before posting.

You have a future writing polls for political parties. You certainly know how to steer a result.

I am somewhere between 1 and 2. I think he should be our coach for a couple more years, since he has had to contend with flunkgate and scholorship limitations for the last 4 years. He has done a remarkable job.

I agree until the very last sentence. He has done an adequate job (not remarkable). He did a solid job keeping us afloat during some trying times but the last 3 games of last season and the first 8 of this season are nowhere near "remarkable" - and with the experience, depth, and relative lack of injuries we've had over that 9 game stretch, we really should've flourished.

I was not intentially trying to steer the results. Just trying to reflect the 5 general opinions I see most prevalent on here, but I probably should have chosen my wording better for #1.

Let's just say #1 should be:

"Gailey has done an excellent job so far. He should be back next year regardless of our final record this year."

Your original wording on #1 contradicts that first sentence, but no sense arguing over that. I would ask, however, how you came to the conclusion that the 'lifetime contract' sentiment was even in the running, much less one of the '5 general opinions'.

I would vote #1 based on your revision...although 'excellent' might even be a bit strong.

I put the poll together in about 60 seconds. My general thought was to have an extreme pro-Gailey option, pro-Gailey w/ contingency based final record and UGA option, pro-Staff / anti-Gailey option, can everybody option, and i don't care option.

If the wording was poor, I am sorry.

If the losing streak to the inbreds from the Cesspool gets extended to SEVEN, that's the nail in the coffin.

I'm sure I've stated this before but I would have fired his sorry ass on 12/01/02, but given the present circumstances if he beats UGA he cannot be fired.

With the exception of last season's 9-5 mark, he has essentially the same won-loss record as before flunkgate and/ or probation, Chan Gailey equilibrium to borrow a phrase, if you will. Seven wins a season is the maximum amount of wins we can expect from a team coached by Gailey. Last year our guys attained their Zenith under him, and I don't expect to ever see him duplicate or better that mark.
When is enough, enough?

I am so apathetic about GT football right now that I just don't care
