This is a perfect example of what happens when you try to appease everyone. You end up with something dumb that no one but a few administrators and the SGA likes.

The old guard at Ole Miss did not want Col. Reb and all of Ole Miss’s traditional stuff to go.

The new guard wanted Col. Reb gone, Dixie gone, etc.

They tried to compromise by keeping the name Rebels and have now gone through a few mascots that have been widely ridiculed and no one likes.

Neither side is going to be happy as long as they try to play the middle so they just need to pick a side and go all in.
