If TV had expected us to win 11 games, we probably would have. That game was lit. I wish we had more evening home games that year.

No… he had several prior to that. I think his first career 100 was against BCThat was a good day.
That was Laskey's first 100+ yard game, correct?

That’s as plausible is I’ve heard. Seems like recently we’ve been getting beat on prime time/national tvI actually figured it out eventually.
But the 3O had a way of speeding up game time and eliminating clock stoppages. For example it tkes about three hours to play a game, but GT games would finish in 2:15 to 2:30. This means there were far fewer commercials!
We didn't get prime time games because ESPN didn't want to lose ad revenue from lost commercials.
I think one of the new rules is blocking below the waist down field, isn't it? With "down field" being about 3 yards from the los. That was fun to watch but if that game was played today Tech would have had over 30 penalties for blocking below the waist outside of the tackle box. Just goes to show that the new rule changes are killing the traditional 3O and why we do not need to go back to it.

I remember that game fondly. Told my son when Miami kept the LB's 5 yards off the line of scrimmage, that GT will win unless they turn the ball over. Miami never adjusted and counted on the LB's just flying to the ball. Remember the confusion in Miami's back 7 arguing and finger pointing. Far different from Miami having the safety fire into the backfield and successfully disrupt several plays.
Or the 2008(?) game where FSU had two DL in the tackle box and both cut the center. Every time Nesbitt saw the formation, he audibled to a BBack dive for big yards.
