On this date in 2014....

Any way we get him back? I swear I heard him on a pregame ACC broadcast. Is he still even at USuCk?

Time to come home.
DMO still loves Tech. The south Carolina move looks like a combination of money and collins. I can't remember who, but there was a former player spouting off on Twitter about some stuff related to it.

And yes, getting him back should be a Key priority for the fulltime head coach.

It was Collins first.
Then USCe ponied up the dough.

Even KQ tweeted out that the reason DMo isn't at Tech isn't at Tech anymore.

This popped up in my Google photos. 8 years ago.

Most memorable play was when our punter ran the fake punt and got body slammed by the Miami player after getting the first down.

How many years has it been since we had that many people in the upper east?

Doesn't necessarily mean Collins either. DMo is part of the athletic department staff at USCe now and never was here. Maybe TStan is who wouldn't hire him in a full-capacity role.

No. It was Collins.
You need to see my post on it in another thread.
It was all Collins.

Why do you think cut blocking is new? It is literally a fundamental of football from day one.

It's know it's been around at a long time. I just think the triple option has been around longer. If I remember right, I believe PJ's version of the option relies on cut blocking far more than other versions that I've seen. I may be misunderstanding, but it's been my experience that triple option has become synonymous with PJ's version of it, largely because it is the only exposure many have had to it in this day and age. I am open to correction.

You can watch games from the 20s and they will block guys below the waist all the time. That is all a cut block is.

Until the 1990s Oline were very limited in the use of their hands so most blockers were trying to get underneath the defender which is all a cut block is. Now you can just push them around all you want.

Squaring up a guy and cutting him is as much a football play as anything. Basically today, guys are too big for their joints so they need extra protection.

Thanks for the insight, Zamari

Reminds me of Syracuse (2013) lining up in some sort of weird defensive formation than looked like a 5 on a dice. We ran for elevnty million yards between the tackles. They never adjusted.
Or the 2008(?) game where FSU had two DL in the tackle box and both cut the center. Every time Nesbitt saw the formation, he audibled to a BBack dive for big yards.
syracuse had their safeties playing way back just begging for us to run the bback dive which we did for big game!!!! - 56-0? It was so dumb

I see what you're saying. So today's football is freak athletes where cut blocking is more damaging than it used to be. Most of the knowledge I have is only from what I am able to determine from what I'm looking at on the screen. I never played the game - I wish I could discuss fundamental x's and o's but I'm a football idiot.

To reiterate Vespinae - thanks for sharing. I have no X's and O's knowledge, just seat of the pants eyeballs. Even then it's difficult for me to focus on the nuances and finer aspects of football. When it comes to football I'm like a squirrel, I can't focus on anything except for wherever the ball is.

In the old days, you didn’t have 340 lbs OL or 350lb DL that are top heavy.

Though athletic, they aren’t quick enough to protect their knees.

You're right. It's not very conducive in this day and age where we have freak athletes who probably really did descend from Olympus.
