On To Colorado

I used to feel bad for Buffalo.

Now, I just want to kill all of them.

I actually flew across the country in 2018 just to watch USC play Colorado just to watch USC stomp them (which they did).

Pretty good chance I'm flying to Boulder to watch us pound them in person.

How many of you realize that UVA got 5 downs near the end of the big game in 1990?
I did not, until rewatching the TV broadcast along with the radio call by Al and Kim.
Crazy. Nobody except Al caught it.
And, we still held them to a FG to tie the game before Sisson won it at the end.
When exactly in that game?

At least one bowl game came out as i desired. BYU put on a clinic with Colorado and the Sanders family. Glad the mouth of the South is out west in the mountains. Sad thing is the announcers like Colorado more that they like UGA. Just turn the sound off and enjoyed the hits.

I was at that SC game too in LA ✌

Colorado loses 15 starters - out of eligibility, nfl, transfer. No Hunter, Shedeur, shilo or Horn. Deion will reload from the portal but seems highly doubtful that he has a cohesive group playing in week 1. Tech needs to make a statement out of the gate in Boulder.

If Deion is even there.

BYU was absolutely teeing off on Shedeur. BYU #16 was trying to make the Sanders family cash in on that disability insurance.

Found it. Start watching at 2hr 39min

First of all, on a very personal note, I am the one who made that recording. The reason I know that is because it showed the call letters of the station carrying it, and it was a local Augusta station (I am in Augusta), and also because I shared it with some friends as well as on the "other" board, and possibly this one as well. I have been told multiple times that nobody even knew there was a recording that had Al's and Kim's broadcast synched with it. I have to say that I am thrilled that somebody I shared it with kept it and is still sharing it with others. I actually have a DVD I made of it, having originally recorded in on VHS.

But now, regarding the extra down, did I count wrong, or did they actually get 6 downs? It was supposedly 4th down, if I remember correctly, and yet when they lined up again, they said it was only 2nd down. That means 6 downs total, not including the 2 penalites, which meant they got 8 total attempts to cross the goal line. Regardless, though, that was one helluva defensive stand by the Jackets.

I recall being confused about the down and distance watching that game 34 years ago. I just rewatched and what I can tell is that Moore went out at the 11. The refs assessed the unsportsmanlike penalty on Balkcum after the play from that spot so uva was starting as first and 5 from the six(broadcast graphic showed incorrectly as first and goal) and UVA would be able to get a first down at the one which they converted on the 2nd play. So, then first and goal from the 1 foot line and Tech stuffed them for 3 plays forcing the FG.

Cool story. Thanks for creating that piece of legend that will live on and on.

You're right. Watched again, and the poor resolution made it hard to see the chain gang, and the TV graphic was wrong, too.
So, I guess Al and Kim were rightly confused but wrong.

Nice video. Had to be difficult to synch that many years ago.

Added: they ran three plates before it happened. So they got 6 downs.
