Our Own Embarrassing Fans

Reading about people ripping on the FSU glitter faeries (or whatever the hell they were) got me thinking about some of the oddballs you see at our games.

And then there are the GTGs, who make me cringe everytime I hear or see them.

+1, especially the part about the GTGs. I am so happy that someone out there agrees with me about those guys.*

*Who I'm sure are both good guys who don't take themselves seriously and all of that and so on and so forth.
 
Personally I kinda like the "nerdiness" of our fanbase. Maybe it's b/c I'm a nerd myself...but I think it really sets us apart from every other fanbase out there...gives us uniqueness, if you will.

I mean honestly....how freakin cool was it to have a SPACE SHUTTLE flying over our stadium during a game with GT alumni piloting it?
 
I can't believe those guys used that as a promo video. I thought it was funny at the time, but watching that video is a little embarrassing. I mean. Wow.

LOL...uniqueness? Why cause yall are the first in line at ComicCon?

That nerdiness that you love is the reason we're a laughing stock as a fanbase and I catch so much **** due to the fact that I'm a Tech Fan and the exact opposite

SpaceShuttle....yes, that was cool.....but that's about all I got
 
Did anyone last year point out that astronaut-guy looked a lot like Woody Allen playing the part of sperm in his Everything....Sex.... movie?

I don't know if you guys know this... but Tech is kind of a nerd school. The mini-500, wreck parade, budweiser song, etc. Accept its goofiness and embrace it, no need to get embarrassed.

Take a chill pill. I've never been to ComicCon, but more power to the guys who enjoy that kind of stuff.

I for one could care less what other fanbases think of GT students. We are who we are, and I like that we embrace it instead of try to hide it/deny it so the cool kids don't laugh at us.

Every fanbase gets stereotyped in one way or another. We happen to be nerds, where 99% of other regional fanbases fall into the redneck or thug category. I'll take the former, personally.

I understand where you're coming from, but I love our nerdy stereotype. Drunk douches come into our stadium and start trash talking because they think nobody will say anything.
Imagine the looks on their faces when you give it right back. Our section gave Clemson fans all they wanted, and I stood dead center of the FSU student section and screamed my balls off. The disgust on their faces warmed my soul.
 
Firefox's spell checker really sucks a lot of the times.

Didn't Kyle say he was one of the astronauts once?
 
A lot of the times, I misspell an obvious or simple word, and it gives me a totally different word. Can't think of an example now though, I'm sleepy and I have to get up early.
