clemsom rival but not hate. Hate is VT - Like others said VT whines when they lose and they think they are great -not.

Y'all don't know the Clemson fans that I know. They are my 2nd for good. But I agree that VPISU is getting closer.

I don't believe in second or third or fourth rivals. I feel hatred for uga in my stomach and in my bones. I dislike the rest of them equally. Dont care enough to call them rivals but would also like them to lose every game. Unless they play uga.

I hate Miami the most, but wouldn't really consider them to be our rival. Clemson is pretty obviously our second biggest rival given the geographical proximity and how many Clemson alumni are in Atlanta, but like most others have said there's not really any hate there.

Clemson is the obvious answer, but you could make a pretty good argument for VT in terms of significance and competitiveness of the games.

I grew up as a GT fan in Upstate SC, and Clemson was approaching UGA as my most hated team. I remember bringing the newspaper to school with a big front page picture of Kerry Watkins' catch and just sitting it on my desk all day. I did the same a few years later when Calvin broke their hearts again.

Then I ended up going to school there. Obviously I have no hate for Clemson, but that is always a really big game for me every year. I'd say up until about 2012, Georgia Tech was also Clemson's 2nd biggest rival. When Clemson started their ascent and the Atlantic division became a 2 horse race, FSU surpassed GT in importance. It doesn't help that Clemson has blown GT out 5 of the last 6 years. It hurts to hear, but GT is on the level of NC State or Louisville in the eyes of Clemson fans.

I'd say the Hokies:

Their first 10 years in the league was a nice honeymoon phase with bullshit penalty calls, I mean some of them were awful.

Kam Chancellor's trash talk.

Beamer and his tapes.

It really stuck in their craw when we beat them in Blacksburg a couple years back and they couldn't celebrate clinching the division at home.

As for last year, their players acted like they should have won after another miracle 4th down double tip catch and perfect defense by a true freshman on the final play of the game

Trying to be "Tech" instead of VPI

Also, TSL shows how delusional a fanbase they are in general. Georgia's attitude with Vandy's trophy case

ETA: They have the easier permanent cross-division opponent and that pisses me off. Also, didn't we have to play them away back to back years for some bullshit about evening out the schedule? öööö Swofford too

As for Clemson, ask yourself; of the last 3 National Championship games in which one did you pull the hardest for Bama? As for me this year is the first time I've decidedly hoped for a Bama win.

No doubt it's Clemson historically, but it certainly feels more like VPI right now. It would be nice to get some juice and hate in the Clemson rivalry, honestly.

I think Clempson is the second biggest rival.

But I actually like them, and always cheer for them, except one day per year.

Probably Clemson. They’ve had the better of us recently, but still a very competitive series overall. We have to beat those guys. Their defense is the problem, as we can’t control the LOS against them. A semblance of a passing game would help.

I voted Clemson, because we've had some both exhilarating and heartbreaking (Woody Dantzler in OT, not linking) football games with them over the years. However, I generally like their fans. VT fans are a mixed bag, generally good people but far too cocky for a team that's never won anything. öööö Miami.

They are quite likeable right now. Dabo is hard to hate and they are SEC slayers. Still, I'd kinda like to hate them a little.

I actually agree with you!!!

Don’t understand the love for Clemson. They are, without question, our second biggest rival. As for hate, if there are levels of it, I haven’t found them. I really hate Clemson, Miami and VT.

Been to a lot of Clemson tailgates and met a lot of Clemson fans over the years, both at Clemson and at BDS. They've pretty much always been great to hang out with and any trash talk has been good natured. I look forward to playing them every year, and love going to away games there. Their coach is a fun guy and they represent the ACC well.

What's to hate?

They are Clemson. Let the hate flow through you. You do not know the power of the dark side.

I feel like rival and hate are fairly synonymous. I hate at least 6 ACC teams more than I hate Clemson...in order (1) Duke (2) UNC (3) VT (4) Miami (5) FSU (6) UVA.

In fact, I’ve pulled for Clemson each of the past 3 playoffs. Hard to see them as our 2nd rival based on my lack of hate. The one thing that does make my skin crawl is the damn C.L.E.M.S.O.N. chant. So annoying. Otherwise, they’re a fairly likable bunch.

VT and daU stand in the way of ACC Championship berths. This is why I hate them more than Clemson.

I have no animosity towards Clemson. I actually root for them every time they don't play GT. Their fans are great, Dabo is a great guy, and Clemson is a neat town. I consider VT as the second rival now.
