Out of pure drunken curiosity

59.

First game was vs Duke in 61. The Pukes had a "lonesome end" if some might recall. His name is Wilkinson and his Dad was a coach of some note at Oklahoma.

GT beat the snot out of them.

Thanks Dad for making me a Tech fan that day.

36. Took a date to that UVA game. A girl who invited me on a date our freshman years at GT. So it had been 7 years between those two dates, IIRC.

We've been married since 2002. Good game. No, great game.

Been a tech fan since sometime in middle school. Had a guy that always wore those stupid auburn shirts ALL the time(ironically AU is my secheat team) and thought it was terrible that uga couldn't spell "dog" so they were out.....when my acceptance to GT came i decided to go to the best school in the state and my passion has grown every year.

23, turning 24 next week (7/1). My first game was Auburn '03.

65 and counting--Been a FAN all my life--1st game in person was Billy Lothridge's freshman debut at the flats--most Hysterical was at the Citrus Bowl win over Neb and knowing we won the NC--the greatest was EVERY win over UGAG especially '99 at TECH--however I fully expect THIS year to be full of GREAT memories and maybe even ANOTHER NC--GO JACKETS!!

51 for a few more weeks. Started following Tech in the 60s when we lived in ATL and then went back for school in '75. We had season tickets for a few years in the late 60s but my dad (Duke grad) hated Bobby Dodd. He was trying to make me a Duke fan but I just love the Ramblin Wreck and the uniforms and started pulling for the Jackets without letting him know.

I'm 55. My first Tech memories were watching highlights on WSB on Saturday nights and watching the Jackets roll in the early 60. Billy Lothridge to Billy Martin.

First game I attended was 67 or 68 Tech over TCU, where John Sias caught the record long TD pass up to that time. I became a student in 72. I was in the Lower East for the 98 UVA game.

Almost 33 - first GT game was national championship game vs. Nebraska in 1990.

I am 22. Been a Tech fan since I went to their baseball camps in the summer when I was 12. First game I went to was against VT in 2007....when Gailey was booed during his don't drink and drive speech on the big screen. Even through all of that I remained strong!

33

Tech fan since 1990.

Attended undergrad during the B*** L**** years, which was quite a shock coming from a high school who was perennially district football and basketball champions. (Marietta)

27

I was enrolled entirely during the Chan Gailey era, which I believe is a major reason that my hatred for Georgia burns with fury of a thousand stars exploding at once.

28. I was standing in the lower east stands for that wonderful game. I was a freshman living in Glenn and hadn't even turned 18 yet. I remember vividly rushing the field, carrying the goalpost out and cutting it up in Clough Daddy's yard while Mrs. Clough brought out cookies. I think it is ironic that this is a far cry from the institutes current stance on the goalpost issue. I am blessed to have been at tech to witness three consecutive beatings of UGA, still have my piece of hedge from the '98 game, it was these fond memories that saw me through the dark Gailey years.
As a young child, I am not sure whether I disliked UGA or liked Tech first. I can tell you my hatred of the bulldogs was cemented by the age of ten due to the stereotypical suburban UGA homers. I remember watching and cheering for Tech in basketball in '85 and '90 and was excited about the '90 MNC but I did not become a fanatic until my sophmore year of high school. Got out as an ME in '03 and have been a season ticket holder since '05 (took advantage of student tickets during the '04 season). I feel completely justified in hating the bulldogs as I received my MBA from UGA attending their Gwinnett campus in '08 and witnessed the delusion and folly first hand.

50, but going on 29.

I became a massive Tech fan when I lived in the middle east as a dependent (grew up in Ohio as a rabid Buckeye fan before moving overseas) and selected TECH pretty much sight-unseen from every other college option, not just in the U.S., but the whole world. I'm still satisfied with the choice I made.

An elderly friend I worked with in summer 1977 at a warehouse in Saudi Arabia instantly sang IARWFGT to me when I told him my college choice. That's what I call a world-famous fight song!

Many of my hall-mates from Techwood 3rd Floor South still get together for lunch and laugh about the same old stuff. We haven't changed much in 32 years.

THWG
