28. I was standing in the lower east stands for that wonderful game. I was a freshman living in Glenn and hadn't even turned 18 yet. I remember vividly rushing the field, carrying the goalpost out and cutting it up in Clough Daddy's yard while Mrs. Clough brought out cookies. I think it is ironic that this is a far cry from the institutes current stance on the goalpost issue. I am blessed to have been at tech to witness three consecutive beatings of UGA, still have my piece of hedge from the '98 game, it was these fond memories that saw me through the dark Gailey years.
As a young child, I am not sure whether I disliked UGA or liked Tech first. I can tell you my hatred of the bulldogs was cemented by the age of ten due to the stereotypical suburban UGA homers. I remember watching and cheering for Tech in basketball in '85 and '90 and was excited about the '90 MNC but I did not become a fanatic until my sophmore year of high school. Got out as an ME in '03 and have been a season ticket holder since '05 (took advantage of student tickets during the '04 season). I feel completely justified in hating the bulldogs as I received my MBA from UGA attending their Gwinnett campus in '08 and witnessed the delusion and folly first hand.
