I dunno. I think CPJ actually reached out to us in the months preceding Chan’s firing.Pretty sure this sane firm landed CPJ for us.

That's how I remember itI dunno. I think CPJ actually reached out to us in the months preceding Chan’s firing.
First post in six years. PES sleeper account!Relax. This is not an uncommon thing to do and is nothing to manufacture drama over. PES is used by a lot of colleges for a variety of positions. They don't make the hire. They facilitate it in a more private process. They can help determine who is interested and who isn't, run background checks, etc.

Just noticed that. Most of the principals are UGA alum. WTF. Conflict of interest....
I want the search firm that got us Rice and Ross.Baker Parker Global Executive Search to Serve as Consultant in Tech Search
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets - Athletics...ramblinwreck.com
Same firm landed us DRad.
“Hey guys, let’s tank our business by doing a ööööty job on the GT account.”
- Nobody
Agreed. Who the öööö thinks outsourcing a HC search to a bunch of MBA nerds is a good idea?I mean, all they have to do is tell us all our top targets weren't interested. Are we going to go around the search firms back to confirm what they tell us? If we end up with a mediocre coach who does a bad job, is anyone gonna really reflect that on the search firm?
Not just that, but given the track record of “GT men” running a football program and what uga has done with their program, we might do well to listen to their suggestions. Todd proved to be a disaster. You guys are idiots. GT still will have its say in the search. This firm cannot hire anybody. GT drives the search and this firm is there to handle all the un-seen business and come up with more candidates.
I think the big one is that it protects from freedom of information requests. So people can theoretically sniff around the job without being linked to it later by the AJC.Retaining a search firm provides legal cover for a multitude of issues. This is pretty important in today’s world where half the population thinks that hires should be made on criteria other than who is the most qualified candidate for a given position
That’s part of it. It allows Tech to hide its target lists, hides the people who inquire about the job, and keeps the messy process of hiring out of public view.I think the big one is that it protects from freedom of information requests. Yea, we let Dodd make a unilateral decision that has done more damage to GT football over 60 years than any search committeeNot just that, but given the track record of “GT men” running a football program and what uga has done with their program, we might do well to listen to their suggestions.
