Parole Officer Richt = worthless, classless SOB

Where does this "Saint Mark" stuff come from? I can recall seeing a lot of UGAy fans wanting him fired.
 
He has been planning that since Tuesday. I talked with a lineman and he said Richt has been laid back about it all week even asking to see some dances during practice that some of the players had planned up.

Richt tries to give the impression that he runs a polished program by hiding behind his faith (much as Papa Bowden did during F$U of the '90s).

Richt surely realizes there is no way to "control" that bunch.
All those player arrests aren't for breaking into the library.

OTOH, I thought everyone on the field after their score wasn't a bad idea considering their 2-15 mark.
Plus, I like to see Bourbon Meyer drop F Bombs on his kids. He is scum.

I think its hilarious how a friend of mine talked about how classless GT fans were against BC.....

Yeah, it goes both ways though. A lot of people who were not bothered by us throwing trash on the field probably found this to be completely classless. Both incidents reflected poorly on the respective programs, I think.

I completely agree. Im by no means justifying our incident, but it was not a slap in the face to the other program (IMO) like this was.

I must admit though, that shot delivered to Stafford when he tried to take a knee made me laugh for like 10 minutes.
 
I find Saint Richt to be pretty hypocritical - of course he learned well from Bobby B at Free Shoes U. His Vandy tirade against his players was more personal grandstanding than true sportsmanship. I also thought he went a little over the top pushing some of his players. I think he was mad that his guys were celebrating such a narrow, lucky win over the Commodores.

His players intentional celebration penalty after the first score was ridiculous. He ought to be suspended for a game. Players who come off the bench to join a celebration on the field should be tossed from the game.

What a sour grapes thread. I've been on the fence about Chan since he got here. This year, I'm off, and he's gone, in my mind. A fan base this divided for this long should not persist.

Look at what you have over at ga. Whether anyone wants to admit it, or not, we are all envious of their football program and it manifests itself in different ways for everyone (this thread being one of them).

If nobody can admit that they are a better coached football team and are in a conference that strives to put forth a better football product, then you need a reality check. Watch some SEC games or something. Our program could only compete with the bottom half of the SEC in its current state.

The fact that an unusually high percentage of posters here think richt showed classlessness is crazy. Is there no one here that would love to see Gailey try to evoke that kind of emotion? Instead we get to see talent wasted, games won at the thinnest of margin, an equal amount of games lost because of that thin margin, injuries to running backs that are ridden too hard, a Jekyll & Hyde team, a defense that often time gives up because the offense doesn't hold up their end of the bargain, etc, etc.

I want to see us unleash the hounds on somebody. Let's call this somebody ga. I don't want to see richt run over to the band again from the middle of the field in jubilation. I want him walking off the field quickly thinking about what he is going to say to the on-field reporter on the way to the locker room.

So long as our players don't stomp other players, make obscene gestures to the camera, do a big taunting festivity in the middle of the field before the game starts, start a brawl at any point, etc, they can do anything they need to do to pump themselves up for winning a game.

It doesn't stop at beating ga one year, we have a loooooooooooot of ground to make up. We need to mount a multi-year comeback. For this, I don't know if Gailey is the man for the job.

You are assuming that a new coach = united fan base

That will only happen if the new coach wins immediately. If Rad fires Gailey, the new coach will have a very short honeymoon with the fans that did not think Gailey should be fired. Essentially, the new coach will need to win big in 2008 or the fan base will go back to being just as divided as it is today.

Please don't put words in my mouth. I'd think Gailey were bush league and classless if he instructed our players to storm the field after scoring the first touchdown, because that's what it is.

Nice job turning this into an anti-Gailey propaganda thread, though. Can't y'all stay on topic just once?
 
I think this thread was off-topic since its inception because it's in the Georgia Tech football forum and it's not about Georgia Tech football. This isn't the "bash Mark Richt forum". You can't expect people to not try to relate it to our football team.

And for what it's worth, I think it was classless, but if it was us doing it against UGA I would have loved it.
