Paul Johnson on Flight to Atlanta

Dear God, i pray we have hope for the hiring of PJ, we cannot afford another disaster at this juncture.

And the triple option is the only offense that Paul Johnson knows, right? It goes both ways.

Navy is 119 out of 119 teams in passing offense.

GT was in the top 20 in all passing categories in Hamilton's Jr. and Sr. years.

Stop before you look any dumber.

You don't think PJ can develop a passing qb? He did at Hawaii for 8 years.

this would be an awful hire, we need fire in the ATL.

Muschamp or Hatcher, not boring old fart Paul Johnson

gimme a break

Why would he do that though?

And it would be dumb as it hurts his credibility.
Dude for the amount you read these forums I thought you woulda known.

Dem came out after the Army Navy game and said that he just couldn't say anything about PJ before the game.

No, I don't. He has said that his offense will work in a BCS conference, and like Gailey, he would be stubborn enough to try to prove it, even though no other coach has tried to run triple option in big time football since the Bear abandoned it.

The man has NO experience as a coach in big time college football. NONE. Just like Gailey did not. He wants to run the ball all the time. Just like Gailey.

People who want PJ are clueless. Fortunately, Radakovich is not.

u guys are nuts if u honestly believe DRad is gonna hire boring ass Paul Johnson

ain't happenin

remember the press conference: "young and energetic"

which one of those is Paul Johnson?
wake up people

Match the second coming of Chan (PJ) with our defense and we'd be in Boise.

Uhhhhh.

Gailey spent most of his previous 15 years as an NFL offensive coordinator, QB coach and WR coach. He was far from a triple option coach.

Just in case you didn't know.

Paul Johnson is a great hire...so would Muschamp or Hatcher!

I'm just glad Rick Nooseheisel is out of the picture! :laugher:

very nice post Jacketup

PJ is different from old boring ass Chan in what ways? Because he wins at Navy?

This guy is perfect for the Duke job, I think that's where he's gonna end up. So we'll get to see him in Atlanta next year, but he'll be on the other sideline.

You guys are insane. I think and hope we interviewed Paul Johnson (I'm not calling him PJ because he's not my cuddly little teddy bear). I hope this because I think it is wise to give as many options as possible a look in a short period of time. If he's the man, he's the man and I trust Rad's judgement over mine, in this matter.

...but, "Plan all along?" You guys are stuck in 2001. Why would Rad hire a guy that doesn't have to recruit and has little experience doing so? Why would Rad hire someone with the pretense that they had to work in a limited environment. I would estimate that Rad wants a guy that hasn't worked in a limited environment so they can stretch the percieved limited environment that Braine and Gailey fostered.

The excuse limited environment needs to be washed away by an ambitious coach with fervor. Johnson may be this man. However, my guess is that he is not.

man, you are getting old
first off, you have Bama in you font, which any college football fan knows ruins your credibility from the onset
second, PJ is much more of a concensus choice than WM - as evidenced by all of the straw polls out there
third, PJ actually has HC experience

we dont need someone who will be loud while the program slips.. we can get coordinators that yell while the Head Coach leads the program with a plan that works and great support from assistant coaches and the AA - if we want it to work.

I think you will get your wish with Muschamp, but the job PJ has done at Navy is remarkable. As long as we win games, I don't care how we do it.

Yes, but that was a very late development. I think when Dems said PJ was not a candidate, he wasn't.

Then he became one.

You just watch.

DRad has got to hire a HC who will win at least 8 games a year and beat UGAy. That coach is going to have to go up against Freigen, Tommy & Bobby Bowden, O'Brien, Davis, Richt, Groh, Grob, Beamer EVERY year.

Drad will RUIN his career if he brings in a 35 year old coordinator, from UGAy and HOPES he wins 8 games against these coaches. Wow, he's full of energy! Whoopee! That won't get you a cup of coffee come game day...

No, DRad wants a sure thing. The surest thing (from his public list of candidates) is PJ + JT.

I would never want a guy like you running a business of mine if you are willing to bet the house on someone you HOPE will succeed...
