Its actually very simple. Even if they wanted to fire CPJ right now they can't, his buyout is too large. So CPJ stays. But CPJ knows he is on the hot seat and needs immediate success, and there isn't time to bring in a new DC to start the defense from scratch. So, whether CPJ is pleased with Roof or not, Roof stays.

Best case scenario is some assistants are replaced.

I shouldn't, but I will ask the question...UTenn has had FIVE coaches (that we know of) to turn them down. UT has great facilities, a rabid fan base, much, much more money to spend on a coach, and basketweaving majors for athletes. Why do you think we could actually hire an upgrade from PJ?

It's not accepting mediocrity; instead, it's not committing suicide.
