Peery to the Portal

Didn’t get the excitement around Peery last cycle to begin with. So not devastated here. Bigger concern is our lack of success recruiting the position thru HS or the portal the last 2 cycles. With GA pumping out elite QB prospects over that span.

Got to believe Chip will be helpful there. Patenaude never really made sense as anything more than a transitional OC. No ties to the South, not an energetic recruiter. Stayed a year too long.

Saw limited improvement in his offense. Thacker and the defense had a few great games, but regressed. Guess my anger is more to Thacker being retained than Chip Long hired, which I'm optimistic about.

I didn't hate his playcalling that much, but he stuck out like a sore thumb on a staff that was supposed to be all about recruiting, juice, energy, biGTime football, elite, relentless, high level, etc

That screenshot of the text exchange with a recruit was pretty bad yeah

He hasn't played since his junior year of high school and obviously wasn't ready. Why throw him in there?
Why not? We scored 0 points regardless. What would have been the downside to playing him? He still would have redshirted…

Because we wouldn’t burn a redshirt doing it and it gives him hope of seeing the field. It also shows what he can do against other teams, especially for his first time playing. Why did we throw Sims in there instead of graham since he hadn’t played since high school?

Huh? Sims won the job. We didn't just throw him out there for giggles. I don't think it matters if we put Peery in or not, but it's weird you're so insistent on it. He was 4th string until like the 7th game, then 3rd string. Really no reasonable expectation he would play this year.
