People on the hive are delusional

Look, Kyle, you're the one that got all personal with this. I've never been one of the people who takes issue with you, so if you've got some angst you need to vent, go vent on BOR or GeeTee. Leave me out of your internet psychodrama.

I think the biggest delusion that hivers have is that the fan base is split or polarized. The fan base isn't split at all. Most people want Gailey gone.

And by what objective means have you determined that? Grow up kid. First you say that you support Chan if he wins out and then you take pot shots every chance you get.

I agree with beej, Quit Posting.

Their points are this:

1. We have had a winning season every year
2. We played in an ACC championship
3. We have been competitive
4. 7 wins was good because of flunkgate, NCAA probation, and injuries

It's a rather weak argument, but I guess these people are just moronically steadfast.

Actually it was a very good argument, up until this year. This was the year where we should have been able to see distinct improvement in the offense and overall record, but to everyone's sorrow (except for a certain distinctive group) that ain't happening.

I agree with Geeteelee. This year has few-to-zero excuses, and has simply been marred by both bad coaching and bad play.

That said, if he wins out and ends the season with 9 wins on a 4 game streak including Georgia... ...I'll be happy as a pig in ****.

Wow is there really nothing else to do today except for start stupid arguements on stingtalk?

Fo real. One would think it's a bye week when the Stingtalk > (the Hive + BBuzzoff)*2 threads start.

Oh yeah, it may as well be a bye week - we're playing Dook.

Look, beej, I'm not going to get into it with you, but don't post things like "stop posting" and not expect me to reply.

Since the Hive is this and Buzzoff is that and Stingtalk is something else where do the delusional people who think Tech can win 10 games a year if they just get a new coach post? Seriously, how can a team that has 2 10 win seasons in the last 40 be considered on the verge of that?

I would like to have someone who will coach an offense I can stand to watch (without the 90's era 30 point defense to go with it) but the best scenario from a coaching change is somebody that can win 8 or 9 a year and leave after 3 or 4 for someplace more attractive. I already know the same people will be whining about him within 2 years so I wonder what's the point?

And "Stop Whining" is just A-OK, coming from one of the biggest whiners on the board?

These "STINGTALK IS TEH GREATEST!!1!1" circle jerk threads are dumb, dude. I can see maybe one per month, but twice a week is seriously annoying.

Part of discussion forum etiquette is realizing that not everybody hits 'refresh' every ten minutes and replies to every post, so good discussion board communities try to minimize thread redundancy. That means keeping most of the "FIRE CHAN!!!!" posts in the same thread, but it also means keeping most/all of the "OMG TEH HIVE SUKS" posts in the same thread as well.

I've been posting on discussion forums since the days before internet, where you had to use your external 1200 baud modem to dial in to BBSes hosted at some other dude's house. Forum etiquette's been around since then. If Stingtalk really is supposed to be a better forum, its posters need to chill out, pause, and learn some basic forum etiquette. You're pretty high on that list, Kyle, but you're not the only one.

How is it that our ardent pro-Chan crowd are all psychics?

Another thought about this subject is that it's become more about winning the debate than what is best for Georgia Tech for the pro-Gailey crowd. They've invested so much time and emotion into defending this guy that they are unwilling to accept that they were wrong and that their time was wasted. I suspect they know a change needs to be made but won't admit it.

In that sense they are very much like their golden boy, stubborn and arrogant.

To be fair, it's been that way for the anti-Gailey crowd for years, to the point where a vast majority of them actually hoped for failure to get rid of him.

That's not even remotely true. Four or five buzzoffers doesn't make most of the anti-Gailey crowd and you know it. Drawing conclusions and making generalizations like that with no evidence is retarded.

Then what is your problem with BuzzOff?

Making baseless mass generalizations about one faction of Tech fan while defending another faction of Tech fan against baseless mass generalizations is a bit silly, don't you think, Knox?

There's like five Gailey supporters left. There are exponentially more anti-Gailey posters on these boards then pro-Gailey ones. It's just a little more accurate to draw a bead on a tiny group than a large one...

Lol, and now you're defending your mass generalization by making another mass generalization?

Count the posters in the threads. That's not generalizing. Take this thread for instance. I count 2 (possibly 3) pro-Gailey posters.

But I could just as easily make the same weak argument to support my mass-generalization statement. Here, watch:

To be fair, it's been that way for the anti-Gailey crowd for years, to the point where a vast majority of them actually hoped for failure to get rid of him. Count the anti-Gailey posters years ago, and you'd see the same 5 or 6 guys hoping we'd lose so Gailey would get fired.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander, dude. Don't generalize unless you're willing to accept a "to be fair" generalization in rebuttal.
