Piss poor coaching

I was wondering if I was an idiot for disagreeing with running up the middle. Didn't know if there was something real football experts could see that I couldn't, as a relatively casual viewer.
Our guys definitely failed that experiment in the 4th QTR. You can't fail to put points on the board when inside the 10 yd line...ever.

These threads are always great. The simple truth is that with an average FG unit we probably win the game today. Like yeah we can over analyze the o and d forever but a good fg unit wins that game today. We are not good enough to beat a good team with a colossally bad day from your special teams

Brent Key has the computing power of an abacus. Every tough decision takes hours and is 50/50 on being the right thing to do.
Slide rule perhaps? (which my dad used at Tech in the 50s)

Really poor coaching decisions down the stretch. Do we have a hurry up offense in our arsenal? I mean what the hell? We were huddling, using valuable time and then calling for mid-line runs and getting nowhere (though I think we got several poor spots). The passing game was working pretty much the whole game. What is the definition of lunacy? Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results? Also, can we pull some kid from the student body than can nail us some FGs? Birr is not getting it done.

I saw missed assignments on the OL and King getting pressured with no time to throw last couple series with the game on the line. Just not a very good football team yet. FSU has been exposed.

Oh, and another thing. I just read GT won the coin toss and elected to receive. Also, another poor coaching decision. I'm sure Key was thinking he didn't want Louisville marching down the field on our flimsy defense and scoring a quick TD but hey aren't we conditioned already to that scenario? You kick and then come out of the Lockeroom at half time receiving the ball. Many times, in the past we have put points on the board before halftime and received the second half KO with a chance for back-to-back scores.

Key needs to humble up and say the Syracuse and Louisville games are on him and the staff. Say they are going to work endlessly to correct the mistakes and stop with the tough guy football routine. This team doesn’t have it.
We need 2-3 linebackers from the portal ready to play next year along with any ol or dl we can get. If Efford is starting next year it will be a good indication of how serious GT is about football. He is a feel good story not a lb at this level.

It is better coaching then Geoff Collins. Lets stick with them, see what happens after the bye week. 3-2 is on track for a bowl season.

Just fyi but we are the #1 team in the entire FBS in red zone conversions coming into today.

Some of you guys should do some homework before you post.
I did see that stat on the broadcast, and shortly after we shat the bed and came away with nothing when we definitely needed something. Keep in mind that stats are a losing proposition when they don't support a positive position. The offense apparently relied on the stats, but forgot the execution to support said positive stats. (specifically referring to the play calling part of execution)
