PJ to Tech 2.3 mil for 6 yrs.

Yikes!! That's a lot of money, but PJ is a good coach.

He is making more or as much as

P. Fulmer

M. Richt

J. Tressel

Frank Beamer

Rich Rodriguez

Les Miles (before extension)

2x What Gailey made

If we get 2.5 losses per year (Half what CCG had), will it be worth it?

If it's true, he better win us a National Championship in those 6 years.

Somebody with a big checkbook must have really wanted this guy.

Welcome back to big boy football, GT. For better or for worse...

What implications will that , if it comes to be, have on our CURRENT COACHES & RECRUITING COACHES...plus did agree to provide (pay for) housing for him and his assistants?

Too much money if you ask me. Hope he proves he is worth it...

That being said, once it is official, I hope everyone gets behind the guy...

I'm skeptical of the cash figure. That's a lot of cash for PJ. Don't get me wrong, he's a great coach, and I'm happy with the hire, but I bet it's less than 2.3. Maybe 2.3 with all the incentives.

What happens to our current staff? Or does he bring everyone from Navy? I guess Bond is gone, at least.

In terms of a proven, successful coach, Tech got the right guy. No question the level of coaching will go up significantly the moment he steps on the campus. As far as the money goes, it is huge that Tech came up with this package. If the numbers we hear are accurate, then Georgia Tech just made a commitment to do what it takes to keep their football program relevant on a national basis.

HOLY CRAP.

If you include the fact we are still paying Chan and PJ's contract buyout, then in total it is close to $4 million a year for the next few years.

HOLY CRAP.

Looks like playing hard-to-get and talking to SMU and Duke paid off, literally, for PJ.
