Why not 9-1?
 
I have wanted a Pat Fitzgerald type coach for GT for a long time. Maybe Key is it. Would be fun.
 
We get it, you know how to start a new thread. Congrats.
 
I'm holding on to that other coach that has a proven record at some other school. Not a flash in the pan sweet talker that has taken over a successful program and made them worse
 
Any non tech guy will leave, if successful, when the money calls. Even tech graduate bill curry left, fwiw. I like very much what Brent key has done. He appears to have, at least, gained buy in from the players. If you scrutinize collins’ “excellent” recruiting, the rankings by rivals were not much different than under paul johnson, whom I liked. It will be difficult to recruit as an Interim head coach. I say, go with key. We could do a lot worse.
 
I'm continuing to vote for Chadwell, but if Key continues to win, he might be the choice.... especially if we could get him at a discount for a shorter period of time. Might give the AA some time to get back into positive figures.

Yeah, I ‘officially’ voted in the poll for Chadwell, but I’m rooting for Key to continue to do well and ultimately win the full time job.
 
Like it or not, key’s not working with a million 5 star recruits. Collins may have recruited somewhat Larger linemen than cpj, but the classes were not ranked any higher (outside of 2020, when many of the best players transferred).
 
Voting Key because that means we are winning. I still think he has to get to 7 wins (including a bowl game) or 6 wins with beating uga.
 
Gotta love the way Key is getting the players and coaches READY each week. They are playing gritty, hard-nosed, FUNDAMENTALLY SOUND football right now. The role of a HC should be to:

1) get the team to play hard and clean each week
2) hire GOOD coordinators/play callers
3) recruit

Right now he’s doing #1 very well. Chip Long was basically his hire. Time will tell if he can recruit
