Well, if you were facing a MMA champ and you had a AR-15 and he had a knife, wouldn't you beat him like a rented mule? The "truth" you reference lacks a bit of perspective, huh? How did the Saint do against UF where both fighters had only their fists?

Uh? Confused? Point was, not only is CMR over rated vs CPJ, but the unlevel playing field makes it doubly so!
How exactly is Richt overrated vs Johnson? Ill hang up and listen?

I actually think our chances against UGA are probably better than our chances against Miami this year.

I remember what happened at UGA when Richt came over there from FSU.

More than anything, though, I'm worried about UVA and Pitt. They have fantastic defensive minded coaches who are chomping at the bit to try and go Xs and Os with us.

Last year our ööööty offense put up 482 yards on Pitt.

Remember this? Miss the unlevel playing field part? The guy with the knife won twice and came damned close a number of times!

Look for Miami to improve dramatically under Richt. There is no reason for that team to win less than 10 games a year.

Otoh, Richt will never lead them to the promised land. A good gameday coach who knows when to gamble will beat him 90%.
Can you imagine how different Richt's legacy would be if Aaron Murray hadn't thrown over the middle in that SEC Championship Game?

Yeah, about that...

GT 1st G25 07:50 Kickoff P00 06:29 *TOUCHDOWN 3-75 1:21
GT 1st G08 05:04 Punt P44 03:41 Fumble 3-48 1:23
GT 1st G14 02:16 Punt P00 14:52 *TOUCHDOWN 5-86 2:24
GT 2nd G14 12:34 Kickoff P00 07:06 *TOUCHDOWN 10-86 5:28#
GT 2nd G25 02:48 Kickoff P33 00:00 Missed FG 9-42 2:48

(here Pitt's coach draws up an entirely different defense at halftime)

GT 3rd G25 15:00 Kickoff G33 10:10 Punt 7-8 4:50
GT 3rd G08 05:44 Punt G13 04:51 Punt 3-5 0:53
GT 3rd G25 00:51 Kickoff P00 13:35 *TOUCHDOWN 5-75 2:16#
GT 4th G09 11:13 Punt G20 08:13 Punt 4-11 3:00
GT 4th G24 01:04 Kickoff G33 00:00 Interception 7-9 1:04

So yeah. After they adjusted we only had one drive longer than 11 yards.

Interviews with the Pitt coach had him talking about how much chalk he used at halftime revising their schemes based on what CPJ was doing on the field.

That's a lot of Poo.

We were in Pitt territory when JT fumbled on a 1st-10 and lost 7 yards. That stalled the drive.

GT 3rd G08 05:44 Punt G13 04:51 Punt 3-5 0:53
Pitt got a good stop here.

5 play 75yard TD.

GT 4th G09 11:13 Punt G20 08:13 Punt 4-11 3:00
On 3rd and 7 we picked up the 1st but got called for offensive PI making it 3rd and 20.

GT 4th G24 01:04 Kickoff G33 00:00 Interception 7-9 1:04
On 3rd and 1 we again got called for offensive PI making it 3rd and 16.

So there half time defensive adjustment was wait for us to öööö up?

Umm yeah. That's how you beat option teams. Contain them and force them to do everything right for more plays, to increase the ööööup-per-drive ratio.

Isn't that how you beat everyone? Force them to max out their "execution per play" to the point where they're more likely to mess up?

I'm usually pretty good with metaphors. Help me with this.
