Positives?

With all of the satisfied posters here maybe we should be allowed a half of a win if UL is willing to just take half of a loss. Kinda like a tie. Let’s contact the ACC and see if we can settle for that.

This is a thread asking what, if any, positives there were from the game from a newish coaching staff in the first game of the new season. I’m sure there’s a thread about Deion Sanders, where you can go talk about how awful this team is.
 
Tailgating was excellent. Got to meet Corndog and architorture. Second half sucked

got to see DaBuzz and Flunkout, so my day was complete

Biggest one to me. We looked like an actual football team which had received actual coaching. I can envision us learning from the negative and actually getting better, which I couldn't really say during CGC's tenure.

I also thought King looked good. Made some nice throws, showed some wheels. Only real blemish was holding the ball too long on that one play which unfortunately was pretty pivotal.

I was very frustrated by some of the play calling but if Key is willing to hold himself and other coaches accountable that should be fixable.

There are some cases where there are zero positives to take away from a game. A one score game where you put up 34 points is certainly not one of them. Acknowledging that and discussing it doesn't mean we are satisfied with the result.

The whole point of this board is discussion, after all. And mom jokes.

Lots of flashes of good things to come. I expect that the mistakes and inconsistent play will iron out with age. I think we had some good plays from transfers in there too.
 
The QB looked legit.
No money down.
We lost but I don't feel like all hope is lost like I did for the last guy.
The new guy says the right things after a loss, didn't tell me how he was going to walk in the locker room and tell everyone how much he loved them and hug it out.

I hope you're right; I haven't shaken off the feelings from the previous and have a hard to pulling that much hope up.
