Post-NSD Depth Chart

Well whatever this season holds I have already renewed my tickets. I don't know what it is but I have a strange sensation that this coming season is going to be a good one. I can't explain it, I just have this feeling.

I think that's the herp

The last two seasons have shown that relying heavily on the previous season's results to predict the upcoming season will likely lead you astray. I kinda doubt we make the Orange Bowl, but I'd also be very surprised if we don't make a bowl game.

The off-season negativity in 2014 was pretty much equal to this year. Vad had left after all the shotgun/diamond failures of 2013 and CPJ re-committed to the running game and keeping the QB under center. Many people doubted that JT would be an improvement, and CPJ was definitely on the hot seat. But we got the best Tech season in recent memory. During the 2015 off-season, most fans expected a playoff contender, or at least a Coastal championship, and we got the worst season in recent memory. I guess we should embrace the off-season negativity and predict a losing year.

Somehow those suggestions were conveyed amazingly well in 2014 and then were completely forgotten in 2015. I know Shaq was an absolute beast and it was a blow when he graduated, but he was only 1 of 5 guys out there. I'd love to know what else changed to cause such an inept showing this past year.

IDK, but watch replay of ugag2014 & msu 2015 and it appears we blocked & attacked totally different. We manned up more, punched em in the guts / chest instead of ankle biting.

Don't know why we changed.

Both of those game were 2014.

We ran a ton of zone dive and belly toward the end of 14. Don't know we veered away from it in 15 - or maybe we just weren't as good at it. Like so many other things

We weren't blocking it well and the Bback kept going through the wrong holes.

I hope Jalen Camp is everything his HS coach has touted him to be.

Camp is 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds with a filled-out physique. He can bench press 355 pounds and clean 330 pounds, the latter of which is more than anyone on the South Forsyth team.

If he wants a WR position, he can go get it. We had flashes of good plays last season, but if he can knock guys on their ass on run plays and be the go to guy on pass plays he could be our next big WR to go to the next level.

Lots of doom and gloom ITT, which I guess can be expected after going 3-9.

My prediction is that next year's team won't look anything like this year's. I bet several returning offensive starters get beat out by young guys or guys who were injured last year, especially at the skill positions. I don't think we will see any dramatic scheme changes on offense, but I do expect pass pro to be better at the very least. CPJ seemed serious about doing whatever needed to be done.

Defensively I think we'll be about the same. We'll be super thin in the back 4, but the starters should be fine. Injuries or having to sub a lot could hurt us there, though. On the flipside, our front 7 should be the best we've had since 2009, although that's not saying a whole lot. We've finally got some talent and experience on the DL, and I think Mitchell is going to be nasty at MLB.

There's one thing I'm sure of at this point, next year is either going to be a disaster or a miracle.
