Post your most memorable GT plays

Why didn't I think of that?

The Goose is Loose is the best GT play I have ever seen.

Second place goes to another Fridge call. It was at Grant Field against NC State. Slot receiver goes into motion at full speed. Joe takes the snap and hands to the slot man in motion. Joe barely moves. NOBODY on the o-line flinches. The WR was at least 10 yards down the field before NC State reacted. It was a 35 or so yard TD run.

Funny you mention those two, because the NC State Kelly Campbell end around was the very play that set up the Goose is Loose run. Georgia had seen us run the end around several times on tape, out of the double tight single back set, and slid their linebackers to the strong side as soon as they saw KC go in motion. Then one TE seal block neutralized all three linebackers and allowed Godsey to run against the grain for 40 yards.

The two plays really go hand in hand.

The Calvin "over the shoulder" TD on the first drive at Auburn in '05. The best part is that it happened in the corner where the tech section was.....absolute chaos!!!

p.s. this is my first post, long time reader though.

Not really one play, but the combo of McNames and Toner vs bama in 62.

Thanks Dad for somehow getting the tickets.

Same game--Rufus Guthrie stops Namath on the try for two. Broadway Joe later called it the hardest hit he had ever taken.

Gary Lee.

I was also at that game. Went down and bought a ticket off the street and sat in the upper West at the corner of the old South endzone. Other buds of mine (mostly dawgies) had tix over in the lower East. We partied afterwards at some pals' house on campus who were grad students at the time.

The fog was just starting to roll in when Gary Lee fielded the kickoff at the South endzone and took it down the East sideline for the killer.

We need more plays like that!

How about the one ,iirc, against Carolina in '90 when Shawn Jones scrambled in from 30 yds out to tie the game? I may be losing it on that one (it's early) but I know it was Shawn Jones against somebody and he pulled our fat out of the fire on like a fourth down TD ramble.

(as an aside, the "BALL IS LOOSE" play was pretty good in more recent memory. I actually listened to that one on the radio. averted a minor tragedy with that play. whew!)

Oh, really..

Speaking of Auburn, Nate's catch on the opening play against them in 2003 was one of the more exciting plays I've witnessed, simply because every person in the stadium snapped out of the funk from losing to BYU the week before and realized that we would be competing in this game.

the calvin catch has to be #1, but I will never forgot Roddy streaking down those hedge lined sidelines multiple times

Re: Post the most memorable GT plays you can remember

Oh, and this one! For whatever reason, this one never makes the list, but not only an amazing catch, but a great pass by Ball, and put Awbern on notice we were going to kick their ass (again) that night!!

1.) Sanks fumble...I was sitting in the stands with my dad and 2 brothers. Dad said: "It's gonna take a miracle from God to win this game." Two plays later, it happens.
2.)Goose Godsey picks up a blocked FG to save the UGA game. GOL kicks it on 3rd down and it saves the day.
3.)The Catch pt. 1
4.)The Catch pt. 2
5.)Roddy's long tightrope TD to seal it against UGA.
6.)DEZ WHITE, DEZ WHITE, DEZ WHITE, DOES IT AGAIN!
7.)The FSU miracle

There's probably not a video for all of them, but post one if you can find it.

I'll start it off.

GT vs Clemson '04. Clemson fumbles the punt. GT gets the ball on the 10 yard line. Reggie throws a classic fade touchdown to CJ with 11 seconds left on the clock to put Tech on top 27-24.

* Gotta go with Godsey to Kerry Watkins @ Clemson in 2000. That was awesome.
* Sisson's game winning FG in 1990
* William Bell's TD run against Nebraska in the Citrus
* Michael Johnson's 4th qtr sacks that put Md away (05) were amazing to watch. Gonna miss MJ
