Postgame Thread: GT Wins @ Vippie Sue

GREAT WIN … REALLY GUTSY.
Here is what I can’t figure out. If I told you VT had 460 yards to GT’s 310, and GT turned the ball over 4 times to VT’s one, you would say we got stomped. Well … that’s what happened except reverse the teams. Why was this game even close???

GT had 463 yards to VT's 297.

But yes, the red zone woes made this a close game.

Still, the guys don't quit and found a way!

Because dominating the stats and squeaking out the game is the most Georgia Tech thing ever.

Red zone playcalling. That's all it is. We saw it so many times today, including on two 2pa.

I’m so proud of our guys. I even noticed that the OL dug deep late on the game.

Best game I’ve seen in years.

Yeah, it's weird. Our run game has been really good at times this year. At other times, well...we've all seen it.

Is it just inconsistency due to youth?

Turnovers. Chokies had plenty of them (4) at key points in the game.

At 28-27 and VPI approaching midfield, I was really wanting those two missed 2pa back for 2xp’s. I understand why you go for 2pa’s in those situations, but being up 30-27 in that situation would’ve been less stressful.

I blame both of these on the OL. Our OL is so bad it makes play calling in the redzone extra difficult. Similar problem with the run game, hard to run when there is no hole. Some of our run success comes when the DL over penetrates leaving a gap.
