Postgame Thread

I’m going to start supporting tech baseball a helluva lot more.. it’s harder to get ööööed by officials in that sport.. one of the only ones left that hasn’t been öööö on and ruined
 
1) öööö the refs, some of the worst calls I've seen since the UNC game where I had to be calmed down by GBI after the refs refused to go thru the tunnel at halftime because of me.
2) we were a 3.5 pt underdog and won by 3. That's good enough for now.
3) the defense played really well
4) the offense showed flashes of being good, but to put this nicely, Chip Long just called the most Chan Gailey game I could imagine.
5) we've got a bye week to get healthy and fix our punter.

Long had some really good drives in the middle there but yeah went full conservative after we hit 20.

The OL could not pickup 3 yards in 2 plays
It could’ve of cost us the ball game
Get that first down and no OT
Still pissed about that
I’ll get over it but a freak miss was all that separated us from the usual bad football

With is nursing a one score lead, with 4 minutes left they knew we would try to run the click and were selling out to stop the run and take away the short passing game. And the did a good job of it. That’s a credit to Elmo’s defense. OL play was solid today. ööööty punt coverage nearly cost us the game. That and ridiculous penalty calls.

Iknowrite? Like when we were kicking the FG to go up 20-6, I suddenly realized that I wasn't on pins and needles for a FG attempt for the first time in years. I dont want to beat the dead horse, but damn - how can one coach öööö up something that simple for that long and then it immediately returns to a normal situation once he's gone? It boggles my mind.

Coverage is a work in progress. Clock management as well. Not quite ready for prime time but significant improvement is a good start.
 
I know what you guys mean, but can we blame it on something other than punt coverage when the punt hang time is 2.4 seconds? It's a step up from getting blocked on damn near every punt, but it's still ridiculous. Hopefully the bye week gives us enough time to fix it.
