:laugher::p21 - 15 Jax State. I'm sorry guys. I don't see us winning this one.
Well, for starters, he couldn't block. Go back and watch the Duke and Ms St. games and it is pretty evident. He also had no vision after the pitch and wanted to take everything to the sideline.

Greg Smith is in some ways like Gailey: nice guy, upstanding citizen, but he does not have what it takes to kick somebody in the ass when it's necessary. Not a slight against him as a person, but certainly as a football player. The Duke and Miss St. games were never in doubt. But he nearly cost us the BC game. Had he taken care of his blocking assignments, we would have another TD for sure, probably two.
When he missed his block on the "for sure" TD, a coach pulled him off the field by his collar before the ref even blew the whistle, and he didn't see the field again for 1 or 2 games IIRC. A few plays later, we ran the same exact play. I think it was Peeples who got his block, and Dwyer was off to the races down the sideline for the TD.
"You can be assured of this, missteps are counted. But, if that makes anybody lose excitement for the Georgia Tech game, you shouldn't."
Crowe told the Exchangites that the season opener with Georgia Tech would be a good one.
"We are a lot closer to playing on a level playing field with these guys then we ever been," he said. "I will tell you this, they are nervous. They know we are a better team then our perception. If we catch their kids not believing their coaches, they could have a hard day, and if they hiccup twice, we'll beat them."
i don't believe i'd have said that.
