Press Conference link for Tuesday - Collins weekly press briefing

"I have tremendous amount of confidence based on demonstrated ability."

- Geoff Collins

To his defense, it depends on what your definition of "ability" is... Never thought this was humanly possible, but I'm almost getting hung over from sarcasm.

I mean, I have a tremendous amount of confidence in his demonstrated ability as well. I'm confident we'll lose and look like öööö and he'll call a stupid timeout. I'm confident that he'll say the following things in the press conference after yet another loss:

  • "I appreciate you guys being here and covering the team"
  • "Disappointed in the way we played, that falls on me as the head coach."
  • "High level"
  • "Proud of the guys and how they battled"
  • "We have a lot of work to do to play at a high level"
  • "High level"
  • "High level", but used four times in a single sentence.

In short, Puts on Collins.

It could not possibly all fall on him because if it did he would not be here anymore since he would be crushed from it falling on him.

If you can look past what he’s saying making you angry personally, you can see he’s a defeated man just going through the motions. He’s not even delusional about it like say Butch Jones was. It’s not if, but when. Can he take nine more weeks of this?

oh, and “I don’t see what’s on social media”:

Even more damning when TDope "should" be able to see this and the GT Prez doesn't care enough to do something about it.

Call me crazy, but I do think getting rid of him (along w/Key and Thacker) would at least create an environment for the players where they can go play and compete. The players have clearly tuned out Goof. Going to be more Ole Miss 42-0's this season until Goof is gone.

When you are drowning and the water is rising I can understand the preoccupation with a high level.

Should have made BINGO cards before the press conference

I went from being a believer to being on the fence but hoping the coaching changes would solve the issues to now wanting to rage vomit every time I hear him talk.

We were sold the Dabo model, but immediately cheaped out on the coordinators. Thacker and Pat should have never been hired. And there was no excuse in not firing them year 2. Neither displayed anywhere near top shelf ability. Hiring Long was no different. He isn’t bad, but he is neither innovative or a master at running your typical ncaa offense.

Pornhub would be pleasurable. This is like the back of the pawn shop in Pulp Fiction and the gimp has just showed up.
The gimp just stood there. G**** C****** is Zed and Marcellus Wallace is GT football. TStan is Maynard just looking on and muttering “öööö him.”

I'm thinking he should just spin a wheel and let that be the answer to whatever question is asked. I mean, that's basically a high level view of how I think it should go.

It is why I loved GOL so much. Bygod if GOL told you he was gonna do something at 11am sharp, you can bet your ass he showed up to do it at 11am sharp.

I went to one of those weekly lunches with O'Leary in the club section of the West Stands. He said, "Recruiting is like shaving. If you don't do it every day, you look like a bum." I noticed Collins hadn't shaved for his press conference today, and I thought about what O'Leary said. I have a hand written letter he wrote me, a lot of which I can't read, because of his hand writing. But, part of what he said was, "Most of my job is being a baby sitter," or something like that. I wish he had never left Tech.

I can't believe he said it.

It's not his fault that he's having to go through this. Cabrera and Stansbury should be the ones having press conferences and answering tough questions. They must not have the guts. I give Collins credit for showing up.

He's got to have a rationale to keep going. He does have demonstrated ability, but that was as a coordinator. It just hasn't carried over to being head coach. Every football fan in America sees the problem. But, Cabrera and Stansbury won't do their jobs or even talk about the problem.
