Does Deion to the Flats have any legs? Despite his mouthy and flashy rep I think there is some substance to him. Mainly what players might think is hokey with Collins would automatically be cool with Deion. No joke thread. Don’t think Tech can pay a big time guy with buyouts. It would be a promo for him. With all his Atl connections, NIL could be nuts. He signed the #1 player in country at JS. It is a better hire than the previous one.

Deion is a sick recruiter. Players are drawn to him and respect him. FSU passed on him because of his lack of college HC experience but his resume is rocketing with his production and (especially) recruiting at JSU. FSU is now in a conundrum where they would probably prefer Sanders but the program is still recovering from the way Jimbo left them when he took the money and ran to TAMU and it wouldnt be fair to fire Norvell while he's rebuilding the program. Plus I'm sure FSU cant afford to fire Norvell anyway.

I like Sanders and one day if he was our coach it would be fine with me. However, it is impossible to predict how one fares in recruiting and coaching at Georgia Tech.
Yeah, this 100%. You could recruit a top 10 class at an FCS school and could not pull that same class at GT with more resources available due to our academic restrictions.

Not this again. With all due respect, have you not seen some of the dumbasses that were able to graduate from Tech?

Well honestly have you seen the "academic load" of football players at other schools. It makes management look like theoretical physics. You'd be surprised how hard an "easy" class is at GT for your standard high school football recruit. We just dont have any bullshit classes, er... athlete friendly classes, to hide these guys in that nearly every other school has. The only non-academy schools that we can compare to are perhaps Stanford and ND but even they have a much wider variety of classes to choose from. I know its a beaten horse topic but I dont understand how you think it's not a barrier to recruiting at GT?

I would be excited about it. He is everything Collins has to try to be, but it's natural. He would definitely get us some positive press, both locally and nationally. It would be a fun, but brief ride. Any hint of success and he is gone, probably to FSU.

Even brief success would position us to hire his replacement from a much better position than we have now. Hiring a new coach after four disastrous seasons will be challenging for our new AD.

Getting kids into GT is the barrier, not the course load. Once they are in, we make sure they pass and are eligible — just like every other program.

What is his biggest win at Jackson State?
Travis Hunter…
Edit: and bringing in 17 3 star+ RECRUITS, not even counting the 14 transfers he got to commit to and FCS program, more than any in SCHOOL HISTORY COMBINED.
