You are waaaay off here.Nick Saban couldn’t bring a 5 star to an FCS program if his life depended on it.

I understand it well. He’s had what… 2 years? He’s played 1 FBS team? So what? He’s taken that program from a consistently low level program to 11-2 in his 2nd season with a top 100 recruiting class, and more 3 stars+ than there ever were in program history. He’s outrecruited us in comparison to the size of he program. I would consider that his best win.I dont think you understand the question.
I’m not though. Black kids want to play with black head coaches. Shadier was going to go to FAU until they canned the coach, but it was solely bc he was a black head coach. He was a 4 star with P5 offers. Sanders knows this, and he’s a huge name in sports as well. He has the confidence, the charisma, and it’s a plus that they want to play for someone with the same cultural background. Saban is just another old white country bumpkin that more and more African American guys don’t want to play for anymore. Collins is just the weird ugly version of that. You are waaaay off here.
I would take 11 wins...how many does "jeff" have?I understand it well. He’s had what… 2 years? He’s played 1 FBS team? So what? Mind riteI would take 11 wins...how many does "jeff" have?
11 is more than 9...God I miss CPJ

This is how I know you are white and out of touch.Black kids want to play with black head coaches.
What Sanders is doing at Jackson State is impressive. I wonder why successful black business leaders and celebrities would not consider encouraging the best athletes to attend HBCU’s. With NIL money they could make this happen. Let enough top athletes in football and basketball choose HBCU’s and the college sports landscape could change quickly. It would be an act of empowerment for the black community and could be a financial salvation to many of these schools that are struggling financially.
With the portal, NIL, and early leaving for professional opportunities, the landscape is changing. Why not leverage things for the benefit of the HBCU’s? I might enjoy the fresh change of watching Jackson State-FAMU or Grambling-Alcon State in a post season national championship playoff. Why couldn’t Morehouse or Howard stockpile first rounders in basketball as well as Duke?
Firing Pepper was a stupid mistake compounded by replacing him with Bill Curry. While I would like to see CPT come to Tech, I can’t believe it wouldn’t be any more than just a stepping stone for him.
Back in the day, Tech hired Pepper; he rode a motorcycle to practice and events. He didn’t wear a tie. He curled his hair. He made outrageous statements. He recruited blacks.
He did much more than that, but his demeanor put off the $$$ guys, so the facilities promised him were never implemented.
If a “flashy guy” like Pepper doesnt get support, will Prime Time maintain support?
Please, no “if he wins“ posts. Suppose he has an improved record over CGC, but still middl’n like Pepper?
Getting them in is a barrier *because* of our limited course load. We couldnt take 3/4 of UGAs class if they wanted to come here because they require athlete friendly courses which we dont have. Since we dont have anywhere to hide semi-student athletes, we have to raise the floor to who we can bring in. It hasn't worked out well for use when we've lowered this floor before.Getting kids into GT is the barrier, not the course load. Once they are in, we make sure they pass and are eligible — just like every other program.
Don’t really agree with this assessment. Black kids want to play for who is going to develop them and get them to the NFL, and more recently they are hunting the NIL money.I’m not though. You think he wouldn’t have gotten a million dollars anywhere else? That’s cute. You think he came because of Deion and not the million dollars? That’s cute.
I’m just not though. There’s a ton of black kids that want to play for black coaches. It has nothing to do with calling them lesser people, they just want to have someone coach them who knows their culture. Hell, Nick Saban probability doesn’t even know who Kanye is.This is how I know you are white and out of touch.
No doubt that most do want to play for programs that will get them to the NFL, but there’s a higher and higher trend of players wanting to play for black head coaches. Hell, when I played, a lot of my teammates were glad we were going from a white head coach to a black one.Don’t really agree with this assessment. Black kids want to play for who is going to develop them and get them to the NFL, and more recently they are hunting the NIL money.
Travis Hunter signed with Jackson State because of the money and the notoriety.
When a kid signs to play for a school, they spend waaay more time with their position coach and coordinator than they do the Head Coach. All you have to do is look at the programs that are putting hordes of guys in the NFL, and up until the NIL, were the best utilizers of bagmen.
