Give me a break. We aren't all sitting around here and crying in our soup anymore... This win absolutely changed the stingtalk program.I’m not saying it’s a bad thing, but calling this a “program changing win” diminishes the value of our team. Beating a 3–3 Miami team would be program changing for Georgia State, but not us. We have more history than that.
Look at it this way, lose this game and our record falls to 1-6 with no expectations of a win the rest of the season. A 1-11 season becomes a real possibility. CGC has to sell THAT product to recruits.I’m not saying it’s a bad thing, but calling this a “program changing win” diminishes the value of our team. Actually, I think it might be better or worse than it seems, in this case. It’s never as good or as bad as it seems.
Yes, let’s bring PJ into the conversationMiami was also gifted 4 points on their 1st possession. We also made a 52 yarder that was negated by a retarded penalty. We also would have had a first down on a roughing the punter, but a total BS formation penalty (that I didn’t see) led to a re-punt...which Miami returned inside the 15. We also owned the ball in the 2nd half and turned it over deep on Miami’s end when we were on the verge of taking a lead.
All I’m getting at is there were plays both ways. Don’t want to hear about their 3 missed FGs. There were a lot of plays in that game.
UM’s losses were by 4 to a top 10 Florida team. By 3 to a very solid UNC team, then by a TD to a now 5-2 Virginia Tech. They also handily beat a ranked Virginia team last week who blew out Duke today. This was @Miami...something Paul Johnson never did. I get they’re not Alabama, but the fans and players have every right to be excited about this win.
Proof of concept. The hard work by the team and coaching staff can result in positive outcomes in this league. It’s a major transformation, but progress is being made.

We are a quarter ahead of schedule, but I predicted this.We play Miami closer than we're expecting in a losing effort, but something clicks. We then shock the entire county (and parts of Dekalb) by beating Pitt. We get a couple of mentions to fill dead air on College Football Scoreboard after we upset Virginia. We then beat Virginia Tech by 10 in an ugly game, and a week later during a segment about Ed Orgeron, Lee Corso inexplicably begins warning the nation to look out for us, and how we are going to be dangerous when we have the right players to run Paul Johnson's option attack. Beyond that? Mutthurt clouds everything. Impossible to see, the future is.
Great win. But you are correct, just re-watched it and it was one of the ugliest games by both teams. We almost "willed" the outcome. A good trait for any team to possess.Miami was also gifted 4 points on their 1st possession. We also made a 52 yarder that was negated by a retarded penalty. We also would have had a first down on a roughing the punter, but a total BS formation penalty (that I didn’t see) led to a re-punt...which Miami returned inside the 15. Yet I wait for the negative Nancys to claim there was a lack of progress shown by the team today.
4 games left on the schedule now against teams we can reasonably expect to win. We’ll have confidence/momentum on our side too.
You know how every Miami fan in the world starts posting "Da U is BAKKKKK" after they make a field goal to take the lead in the first quarter of a game? Know how annoying and ridiculous that is? Let's not be Miami fans.StinGTalk -where winning brings out as much bitching as losing.
