This seems somewhat insane. To recap his career, he left Boise State in 2011 and bounced around between practice squads and backup duties in the NFL, while playing 3 games for the Cowboys. He was QB coach for the Cowboys in 2018 and OC in 2019 and 2020. That's 3 years of total coaching, all in the NFL. What college coaches have ever been hired with less experience and youth? Maybe it is somehow a grand slam, but this could tank really badly for Boise. They were lucky to have Patterson for so long.
