Proposed expansion of Transfer Rule

How many times had Tate Martell committed/transferred to different teams in his career WITH this rule in place?
Not even close to what you think. Take 2 minutes next time and do the research. Players can’t just leave in the middle of the season and play for a team in January. Not how it has or will ever work.

It’s called an unlimited transfer portal for a reason… and Tate literally transferred to 3 different high schools, then he transferred to 3 different colleges. 6 schools in 8 years…

They're professionals now. Unless they're under contract, they should be able to switch teams every week. Just like in any other profession.

Kids switching High Schools 3+x is nothing new. That’s been going a decade plus before the transfer portal was even a thought. If I’m not mistaken Storm Johnson went from Buford to Grayson to Loganville all before signing with Miami.

As far as Martell goes, why would any kid turn down going to and starting at Bishop Gorman? Same for IMG, etc. If tOSU, Miami and then finally UNLV want to give the kid a scholarship, that’s their decision. What’s the big deal?

The point you were initially trying to make about kids leaving mid season and transferring to say Bama and playing in the CFP, simply isn’t ever going to happen. Between classes just starting back, not being a part of the team the whole season, etc, no HC would do that. Otherwise don’t you think Saban would have escalated Gibbs transfer?
