Pyron’s a helluva Quarterback

Nice stuff! And you are right. A little later on Jerry Priestley also passed the baton to Lothridge. The 1962 team was very good; they lost to LSU because Joe Auer dropped the winning TD, and stubbed their toe against Auburn, otherwise they were dominant
Jerry Priestly didn't pass the baton to Lothridge. Priestly played in '64 and '65, after Lothridge graduated in '63. You are correct though about Joe Auer dropping the winning TD against LSU in '62. I was a Rat then and at the game..

As usual, you are right. It was Priestly who passed to to the Young Left Hander. I wasn’t thinking on that one!

As usual I am right??? WOW, you have much too much faith in me. LOL
Priestly was a local Augusta boy (North Augusta, actually), so I remember him well.

My wife went to North Augusta and was about a decade behind Jerry. BTW, I always loved how Dynamite Goodloe referred to Kim as “young leh handah”

Over my dead body. I am thinking Wienke is helping make Pyron a good QB. I speculated elsewhere that I’m not sure Sims accepts Wienke’s coaching - that is circumstantial speculation but my eyes are not lying to me. There is a look in Sims eyes that tells me diseqc is correct.

Sims game is vastly different than Wienke’s game. Perhaps CCW doesn’t know how to coach a dual threat QB.

Seems Pyron has some dual-threat in him. Its hard to view his rushing stats since sacks are subtracted but just in the VT game, he had a few key first down runs that looked like at least 8-10 yards each not to mention the TD run. Not disagreeing because I don't know for sure.

Absolutely. A lot of Pyron’s runs came with his helmet halfway off his head.

We give them grief, but they are ours...

I watched a replay of the game today and concentrated on just watching our offensive line play. I never really saw them getting man handled or swatted away. It seemed like every time Virginia Tech sacked someone or got in our backfield it was because their defensive line had performed some kind of stunt. Usually the Virginia Tech lineman would come into our backfield untouched. It looks like a coaching problem not to be able to recognize what the defense is doing and to act accordingly.

not sure pyron's star rating, but with his HS resume, surprises me he ended up here. since we're still paying geoff, can we at least get him to keep recruiting for us. used car salesman one thing he actually can do.

Key recruited Pyron.

When we got good pass blocking, (rarely) Pyron was on right on target..I still wonder about lack of push on a 3rd and 1-2 yds.. Sad.

I’m thinking at this point that Wienke is the Ed Reveno of the football program.

Change my mind.
I'm trying to change your mind, but I've searched all over the interweb and I can't figure out who the hell Ed Reveno is.

How is the INT not his fault when he threw the ball directly into the hands of a guy five feet away from him?

Yeah, INT was 100% on the QB. I swear TO threw a pick six like that in his win over VT also.
