Question to the fan base

Who is jumping ship??? We lost one football game and people are just upset that the team didn't play well.

I don't really worry about it. If your jumping ship your not a true fan. If you've suffered through Bill Lewis years than this is nothing.

How do you fellow true Tech fans feel about those who are jumping ship? How do you think it makes the coach feel? So new into this building phase.

And do you think it effects the players or do they even hear everything out there?

Let's hear from you.

First of all, I don't think anyone "jumping ship." Second of all, I think the players(if there are any...I know James Johnson is no longer with the team) and fans whose feelings are hurt need to grow up. You play like crap, you get booed and criticized. You want them to stop, then you play better. That's just the way it works.

I also don't feel people are jumping ship. People get upset and it's really just natural, especially post game. Coach seems upset about it, but doesn't seem too worried either.

To be fair to the OP, it is true that Coach Johnson said about an hour ago that he had never seen fans jump ship over one game like they were this week. And he used that exact phrase iirc.

Well at least we know he hears us? :) Maybe we have different interpretations of what "jumping ship" is. I tend to think of it as giving up on the season and not really caring anymore.

When you see me wearing a "Don't blame me, I'm a FOC'er" T-shirt, you'll know the jump ship time has come. I won't jump ship on GT, just the coach.

Coach Johnson seemed to be mostly poking fun. He did not have a bitter or doleful tone when he talked about the ship jumping. He also poked fun at some of the emails he had gotten that said things like, "the offense should complete more short passes" and "we need to get Dwyer the ball in open space." Our coach really handles the PR parts of the job very well imo.

If we didn't jump ship through the Chan years, I don't imagine we will do it now. I have lived through the Carson, Fulmer, Rodgers, Curry, Lewis, and Gailey years. This is a picnic.

Guys,
I agree with you all as we are all true fans but I've seen season tickets pop up on CL and have had alot of so called fans and Tech grads tell me they suck and the coach doesn't have a clue. I just find it funny that after one loss they are ready to go on to the next hot thing in the state.
Also, the Bill Lewis year's were horrible.. I mean horrible, I wonder where he ever ended up?

I love what coach said tonight about scheduling the other teams.
You guys have to admit, coach is getting a lot of silly questions. I had a lady behind me at the Clemson game yelling for him to change the whole offense.. The whole section just laughed her off..

I'm not old enough to hang with ya on that one! (LOL):laugher:

Well, I am old enough, and I have lived (and died) thru all those years----and I ain't going anywhere either.

I think Bush accused folks of aiding terrorism if they asked a question about what he was doing (not to get into a political thing). Fans being upset is totally different from non-fans jumping ship.

I can only speak for me. I'm a GT fan. After the first 3 weeks, I felt like I had been lied to by the athletic dept. All I heard all offseason was that we were executing better and faster. That has not been the case.

I'm still a fan of GT, DR and PJ, and I still believe great things are in store for us. And even if the ship were to go down Titanic style, I'm staying on it.

No one in the stands should ever BOO our players. Ever. There's no excuse.

I'm not a fan of booing anyone but officialls or maybe coaches if I go that far, but that's it

Its asinine IMO to boo College Ball Players

I agree and I disagree. For fans to be going "nucking futs" right now is just crazy. We've played 3 games and 1 of which was against probably our biggest rival outside of UGAy. We won, PERIOD. It may have been sloppy, but it is still a W and when it's all said and done W's are all that matter. Not PPG, YPG, Pancake Blocks or Sacks.......Just Win Son

What gets me is when fans boo a player (usually a QB) during a game that has not been decided yet. Why would you boo a player when you need that payer to stay confident and win the game? I recall Tennessee fans booing Crompton after some poor throws in the UCLA game, which was close from beginning to end, and I was thinking, damn, that's really going to help his confidence on the next drive....
