Question to the fan base

I just listened to the coaches show and I do not believe he said that fans were jumping ship. It sounded to me more like he was talking about the "experts" or "pundits" getting off the bandwagon and changing their tune about how good we might be this year.

I don't think people are jumping ship, but I think people are really disappointed with the way we lost. That is due mostly to the increased expectations we had. I think if we don't get hyped up like we did this offseason, if people say that the offense is continuing to grow, rather than say how much better of a team we are this year, then the loss doesn't hurt as much.

Agreed. But, I think that those fans who had such "extremely HIGH" expectations were a little naive.
Offensively, I can see great expectations but you also have to factor in that every team on our schedule watched game film of the LSU game and how to attack our offense.
I don't think LSU was the perfect example though either, they beat the hell out of us not because of GREAT defense but because of COSTLY turnovers that really put us on our backs.

As for the fans with HIGH EXPECTATIONs, did they really pay attention our DEFENSIVE losses. If so, then their reality should've been that we have an excellent opportunity to duplicate what we did last year and possibly compete for a conference Championship and BCS bowl.

Our offense has the opportunity to be better due to the returners but that's all on the hope of the OL being better (which obviously they're still a big work in progress)
On that note, our offense may be better but we also have to understand that the D's we face are going to be better and we've got to find new ways to "mushroom bruise'em" and attack THEIR weaknesses.

That's all I got
